I really didn't like the attitude of the person working in the cafe. Yesterday we were passing by the cafe on our way to the beach, we thought to stop there and take some cake/coffee away so that we can enjoy it on the beach. We had the open laptop with us, because we were passing some files from one disk to another, so it couldnt be closed inside the bag and we didn't want to leave it in the car, so we decided to take it inside. From the moment we entered the cafe the girl working there started to ask us to leave the place, saying that we can't be working there. I tried to explain that we are not going to work there, we were about to take sth and leave, but she keept insisting that the cafe is laptop free. As I can totally understand the fact that the owner doesn't want to have people working on the computer there, but I dont understand the atitude where the person doesn't event want to listen to what the potencial client has to say. It looked like a very nice place with good food, but we left feeling super weird, because we were not allowed to even explain our situation. 0 stars for the service.
** My answer to your reply: as I mentioned above we wanted to take away a coffee or/and cake, but we were simply not allowed to do this because we were told to leave the place, we were not even able to say anything because you didn't allow us to. As we opened our mouth to explain the situation your only responde was 'laptops not allowed, you need to leave'. Maybe instead of kicking us out you could simply ask one person to choose sth while the other one is outside with laptop in the hand.
As I mentioned we were there not to work but to order a coffee and leave, so called take away. We didn't disrespect anything and anybody, because we were simply not aware or any policy. What I'm rating here is terrible Customer service that we have experienced.
Reading another ratings with one star I can see a similar pattern of being arrogant and looking at your answer to other people and to my review simply confirmes this.
Maybe instead of trying to prove that other people are wrong you can learn something based on the comments.
I visited this café and was initially impressed by its charming atmosphere and warm welcome. Upon arrival, we were greeted in English and asked if we preferred a Portuguese or English menu. As I was with a Portuguese friend, and since we were in Portugal, I naturally chose the Portuguese menu.
When it was time to order, I requested an espresso and a batida de açaí, which was listed on the menu. However, the staff member taking my order seemed unaware of it and stated that they didn’t have it. When I pointed it out on the menu and explained that “batida” is simply the Portuguese word for smoothie, I was met with an unprofessional reaction. The staff member responded with attitude and told me she didn’t speak Portuguese. I was quite surprised by this, given that we were in Portugal and that the café offered a Portuguese menu.
Following this, she walked away without a word, returned with my order, and later pointed out my comment to a colleague in a way that made me feel quite uncomfortable and unwelcome. While I understand that some staff may not speak Portuguese fluently, I believe that if a café offers a menu in Portuguese, the employees should at least have a basic understanding of what they are serving. Hospitality is not just about serving food and drinks—it’s about making guests feel comfortable, regardless of the language they speak.
On top of this, I was quite shocked by the pricing. Given the location, the prices felt outrageously high, especially considering the level of service provided. If a café is going to charge premium prices, it should at least ensure professional and attentive service that matches the cost. Unfortunately, this was not the case, and the experience did not reflect the kind of quality or hospitality one would expect at such price points.
I hope the management takes these points into consideration, as the café itself has great potential, but the overall service experience and pricing structure need serious...
Read moreAll in all great. We loved it here and would come back.
We had a limonade and the red juice of the day. Both are fresh made, really large and so good!
Our highlight were the dumplings. They were so delicious and together with the small salad such a good dish.
We also tried the highly recommended cakes, along with an espresso and a chai latte. Everything tasted very good. The orange cake was exceptionally flavourful and just like the raspberry chocolate cake, very mighty.
The Orange cake is not like a every day cake and not for anyone who doesn't like trying things out. The Chai Latte was tasty, but a bit watery in consistency, maybe because I chose almond milk.
In the end, we didn’t payed that much and literally rolled out of the Restaurant. We would...
