HONEST REVIEW: Disclaimer: as I'm an African person perhaps my experience may be different than yours. But here's my story... I would think that sticking out like a sore thumb would've gotten their attention but NOPE. The group of 3 who arrived 2minutes after me were seated first - I know the servers saw me standing at the "welcome" entrance and then motioning towards the door because I wasn't being attended to. Granted, the place was full BUT the group after me were seated first. No worries... Business is booming so it took a little time to attend to my table. I ordered the nachos with Guac, a side of sour cream and a Somersby. The food arrived fast and the drink arrived a few mouthfuls later. The nachos were salty and with the guac? EXTRA salty. But I was peckish so, no worries.
NOW HERE'S THE KICKER! I have a "cartao de refeicao" and after careful research before my trip, I saved all the restaurants that accept my meal card. Upon paying at Sea You Surf, I was told my card i.e. Edenred was NOT a partner of the POS machine "Viva Wallet". Mind you, I saw another customer pay with the usual Multibanco Millenuim bank POS machines. The lady/ management assistant I dont know, kept repeating the same thing, adding "I don't know why we're listed on the Edenred site but the Viva Wallet is not a partner". Absolutely RIDICULOUS! The POS isn;t registed with Edenred BUT the ESTABLISHMENT is!! I told her to call them and sort it out, and then paid with another card. Her apology was disrespectful, she murmured something like "sorry for the inconvenience" but she said so as she walked away from my table. Absolutely disgusting service. I thanked her and left, still upset. I will be calling the owner and have sent an email to Edenred because this is not ok. Imagine if someone doesn't have cash or another card to pay -then what? Deeply, deeply disturbed by my experience at this cafe.
The only positive: the price point isn't too bad nevertheless 7eur for 3 pancakes and a little fruit is...
Read moreWe were anxious to come here again as our friend was previously ill from drinking a fresh juice, but with a looming curfew at 1pm, we went again. Sadly the service was poor, the waitress not only got our order wrong, but they did little to rectify the situation too, offering me a wrap 10 minutes after everyone else! Plus I asked for a veggie version of a wrap, I still got it with meat, so left with a hungry belly and very poor customer experience. I rarely ever leave a bad review but I feel there was a simple solution here, but little attempts were made by this business sadly. I would not return, albeit my husband said his wrap was very good, seeing as he had mine, he certainly didn't leave hungry like me! I work in hospitality myself as a restaurant manager, so know this is not the way customers...
Read moreI visited this cafe and although it must be said their food and service was amazing, the owners permit dogs to be off leash in the cafe which was unfortunate as an off leash large German Shepherd type dog ran up to my leashed nervous dog and acted very aggressively growling and exerting dominance. When I asked the owners to please leash the dog, they only stared at me and wouldn't respond. When I asked a second time they sneered and said their dog doesn't get leashed. It's a legal requirement for dogs to be leashed in a public place, and the cafe owners may want to adhere to this. If my dog had been attacked on their property due to an off leash aggressive dog, they would have responsibility also. Please consider making dogs being leashed on your property a requirement so everyone can be...
