BAR DA PRAIA DA ARRIFANA — Restaurant in Aljezur

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Restaurant da Praia Arrifana and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles from Fabio and Helena adding to the welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant is situated in a beautiful location overlooking the stunning Arrifana beach, making it the perfect spot for a romantic dinner or a night out with friends.

The highlight of our dining experience was undoubtedly the incredible chef dishes that were delicately created. Each dish was a work of art, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. We were blown away by the attention to detail and the quality of the ingredients used. From the fresh seafood to the perfectly cooked meats, every dish was a delight to the senses.

Wow. Just wow. We did not expect this high quality food in this laid back relaxed location. The personnel, the food, the view…all is perfect. Chef Fábio Gomes knows how to combine special tastes and how to surprise you. Everything is fresh, creative and just delicious. All for a very good price. We had cocktails to start with, 3 courses (try ALL the snacks, they are so good! Even “just” the bread with 3 dips is to die for. Also the first time I tried black bread - delicious). As a main we had the octopus and the swordfish. The octopus was perfectly cooked, the sauce that came with the swordfish was fingerlicking good. The warm brownie, combined with the ice cream, nuts and cream topped off a perfect lunch. It doesn’t get any better than this. Lovely location right on Arrifana Beach with stunning views of the ocean, surfers, and the wide sandy beach.

I sat on the deck this time rather than up in the restaurant, which was a great spot to enjoy the scenery.

The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, but the food was a bit disappointing on this visit.

I ordered avocado with mushrooms and egg on toast—asked for scrambled eggs but received fried instead. The dish felt a little greasy, and the avocado seemed more like guacamole paste than fresh.

Unfortunately, it left me with indigestion afterwards, and the coffee was lukewarm.

That said, I’ve eaten here before and enjoyed the food, so perhaps it was just an off day.

The atmosphere and location are fantastic, so I’d still go back for the views and to give it another chance.
