Italian Republic — Restaurant in Almada

I recently dined at Italian Republic and had an outstanding experience. We ordered two pizzas and a tiramisu, and each dish exceeded our expectations.

The pizzas were light, crunchy, and perfectly portioned for one. The crust had the ideal balance of crispiness and chewiness, making every bite delightful. The flavors were well-balanced and authentic, capturing the essence of true Italian cuisine.

The tiramisu was the perfect end to our meal. It was wonderfully fluffy, with just the right amount of coffee taste. The dessert struck a harmonious balance between sweetness and richness, making it a memorable treat.

In addition to the excellent food, the service was impeccable. The staff were attentive, friendly, and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, providing a comfortable and enjoyable dining environment.

I have been to 3 different locations of this chain. The one in Charneca was amazing service. The two in Colombo mall and Almada fórum? Not so much. This review is about Almada fórum. The staff are indifferent and not warm at all. Everything you ask them (even to put a sprinkle of Parmesan on your pasta appears to be a boring chore for them). They do not look happy with their jobs at all, and there is nothing they do that make one want to return. The 2 stars are for the food, I had the spaghetti bolognese and it was acceptable. Had to ask for the Parmesan. Indifferent service. Food is not bad. Not great either. I come here when I am in a hurry and want some pasta. So..i am a pasta lover. good pasta, bad pasta..any pasta. But not this pasta. My bollognese Spaghetti look like they went to an Oil spa and never rinsed themselves after. The tomato sauce has no hint or taste or trace of tomatoe in it. It has no structure. the pasta was semi- done. needed 2 more mins to boil. the 3 types of meat it had in it ( out of which one was supposed to be spicy) were so uncooked they felt raw. No hints of any Spaghetti specific spices. NO TASTE, NO STRUCTURE. Also, the Tiramisu was simply a joke. doesn t resemble anything of what tiramisu should be.
