When it comes to the food, I ordered picanha and it was good warm and cooked as requested, but the tuna steak was just average. It didn't have any distinct flavor or texture that stood out.

The customer service was also just average. The staff were polite and attentive, but didn't go above and beyond to make the experience memorable.

The ambiance of the restaurant was also average. The decor was simple and there wasn't anything that really made it stand out from other restaurants.

Lume Restaurant is a very nice little restaurant in Lejas. It has a little, but very delicious menu (see photo)! The cook is a very enthusiastic man who likes to interact with his guests. We came here around 10pm and while most restaurants denied us (because the kitchen would close very soon), Lume gave us a warm welcome.

There was a language barrier between Portugese and English, but we worked it out. The waiter was patient and very eager to translate the Portuguese menu to English.

We had a really good meal here. I had very good grilled cod (which they apparently don’t actually fish there) with grilled veg and rice. My husband opted for the pork ribs, fried polenta (delicious) and grilled veg. Vegetables seem like an afterthought in many of the Azorean restaurants but here they are really good. (We had carrots and broccoli.) Massive servings, but that’s par for the course. If we were to go again, I’d probably order the fried polenta, the grilled veg, and maybe just an appetizer. (Despite the big servings, I remember my husband still having room...
