An excellent place to pass the time in Barcelos, with people on the pilgrims route coming and going. The bar itself is small but it has many tables on the square outside. Food is available from 1200 -1500 and 1800 - 2200 and drinks and snacks are available all day and evening. We stopped here several times as we were staying at the Casa da Ana next door, and service was always quick and friendly even when busy.

if you are looking for a quick bite to eat , sandwiches and snacks are.good in this place.. they have a vegetarian burger, but (it comes with an egg and mayoneise, just make al sure to ask to.make it without it), and 0itnis very good. service is fast ans they have a very nice outside seating area next to a fountain.

Das Lokal liegt etwas abseits der Touristenströme und punktet mit einem tollen Außenbereich um einen schönen Brunnen. Auch innen macht das kleine Lokal einen gemütlichen Eindruck. Die kleine Speisekarte liest sich leckerer als die Speisen am Ende auf den Tisch kommen. Sie sind zwar schön angerichtet, aber die Portionen mehr als klein und etwas langweilig im Geschmack. Von den zwei Galao's die wir zum Essen bestellt hatten, kam ein Glas nur halbvoll an den Tisch. Die Preise sind OK, geringfügig an den Tourismus angepasst. Unsere Servicekraft war sehr bemüht, allerdings - da kann sie wohl nichts für - mit zu vielen Tischen für eine Person.

A really lovely café situated in a pretty square in Barcelos. We've came across the café by chance. We had a couple of salads and fresh lemonade and it was all very tasty. Giving out extra sugar to ad to the lemonade if needed meant that the café pays attention to detail. The service was very good and very friendly. If I lived in Barcelos, Historical Café would be my local. Highly...
