While walking the camino, I booked a dorm bed here via Booking. As I clicked to book, I immediately realized that I had selected the wrong night and within minutes sent the guesthouse messages (via e-mail and via Booking) asking whether I could cancel or re-book for the following evening. I didn't receive any reply and the following morning was charged the full rate as a no-show.
Listen, I know the initial mistake was mine. But you can’t run a serious business and simply not reply to your guests’ e-mails. It would have been poor customer service to not even try to accommodate my request, but at least it would have been better than being ignored.
This guesthouse has billboards with QR codes plastered by the side of the road 20 km south of Barcelos, so they're clearly playing dress-up as a serious business.
