Botafogo — Restaurant in Braga

This place is owned by a man named Jorge who is very amiable?. He should be proud of his restaurant and his staff. The quality of the food is exquisite. The service is excellent. So dear traveler, if you need to eat and you go anywhere else you are crazy. This is the place to be in Braga! No visit to a restaurant is complete without a bathroom stop. The bathroom is very clean and elegant. Using the restroom is a pleasure. If your wallet is not fat, don't worry here. You can eat a lot for a little. The menu of the day is the thing to have. O nome até assenta bem… porque a vontade que dá é mesmo “botar fogo” ao restaurante.

Chegámos por volta das 21h45 (o restaurante fecha às 23h), por isso nem sequer era tarde — mas o atendimento foi péssimo desde o início. O funcionário que nos atendeu não foi minimamente simpático, nem mostrou vontade de ajudar. Disseram-nos que dois dos menus já não estavam disponíveis, e quando tentámos pedir outro, informaram que só está disponível aos domingos — informação que não está indicada em lado nenhum.

Acabámos por pedir bacalhau à Braga, mas o que veio à mesa nem se podia chamar postas — eram autênticas barbatanas. Para além disso, o bacalhau não tinha sabor absolutamente nenhum, estava completamente insonso.

Pedimos Coca-Cola no início da refeição e só a trouxeram depois do bacalhau já estar na mesa. E, para completar, um casal que chegou depois de nós recebeu tudo antes e com atendimento mais rápido e simpático — não sei se foi por sermos mais novos ou por outro motivo, mas foi impossível não reparar.

Sinceramente, este restaurante parece viver só dos turistas. Quem realmente conhece e aprecia a comida portuguesa de qualidade, vai perceber rapidamente que este sítio não está à altura.

A nice restaurant in the center of Braga. I noticed a lot of local people eating here. This confirms that food quality and quantity are good. Staff is very polite and provide fast service.
