SUSHI STAR — Restaurant in Braga

We were very excited and with high hopes to eat at this new place only to be disappointed by almost everything within this experience. I have to give a point of reference and that being that we came here for lunch on a Sunday which is arguably one of the busiest days for restaurants. With that said, we were able to get a table for two within a few minutes of entering the establishment. The food was quite good but not worth everything else that we went through. Every single item that we ordered would only arrive after 15 minutes of each other. We spent on average around 1 hour and 30 minutes waiting for our food. Towards the closing time one of the waitresses came over to us and asked if we were all done. We complained saying that we hadn’t received around 8 items. She followed up with more question and at the end decided to bring a pen and paper to register all the items we still hadn’t received. This was due to the apparently innovative system that they tried to introduce that has been going around in many other restaurants, although, not with this level of disorganisation. This system being ordering through a tablet. It seems that they didn’t get half of our order. Still having annotated on a piece of paper they misread one order and we didn’t receive two others. To top it all off, I found a fishbone in one of the tataki salmon rolls. The overall environment of the restaurant was off since the music was quite loud and temperature too low to feel comfortable without our jackets on. We left unsatisfied and discouraged from ever...

Mi experiencia se divide en 2 ocasiones que fui, la primera vez fue maravillosa en invierno y la segunda vez que fui fue terrible el calor del verano había dañado los alimentos ensaladas, wakamen y ciertos sushis sabían rancios o vencidos de fecha de caducidad (seguramente por culpa del calor, se dañaron antes), había insectos, sushi y sashimi caliente y el ambiente era como estar en un horno.

La primera vez que fui en invierno fue maravillosa, excelente comida, platos bien elaborados, deliciosos, una variedad sorprendente y todo está rico y sabroso, el servicio era decente, no resaltante pero cumple con lo esperado y el ambiente eran regular, tenían excelente música que adore y el lugar no estaba muy lleno así que se sintio bien, pero había algo de insectos de todo tipo que incomodaban (dentro del local, no en las mesas del exterior) Moscas, mosquitos grades y pequeños, etc.

Mi segunda experiencia fue en verano, estaba entusiasmado por ir por lo mucho que disfrute la primera pero sin duda el local en verano es un horno, su estructura y diseño tiene 0 ventilación y por desgracia esto afecto todo, gracias a Dios no estaba muy lleno porque si no insoportable estar ahí dentro, la comida venía caliente lo cual es perjudicial para el sushi y sashimi, y mucha comida sabía ya dañada o vencida, pero conozco bien el área de restauración y se lo complicado que es la correcta conservación de los alimentos con temperaturas tan altas, por desgracia mucha de la comida que pedí estaba en mal estado, principalmente el wakamen estaba ya vencido, viejo, dañado por las temperaturas y Bacterias, y con el pescado (qué es un peligro) uno que otro sabía raro y los que no se sentían como sashimi y sushi que deberia estar cerca de frío fresco parecían sacados de un microondas, y por supuesto el problema del calor también aumento la cantidad de bichos qué había dentro más mosquitos, moscas, zancudos, anopheles, entre otros, lo cual más el sudor y el calor de lugar dañaron totalmente la experiencia.

Consejos para el lugar:

1. Por favor mejorar la ventilación del local, demasiado caliente y cerrado en verano, si así estábamos los comensales no me imagino sus pobres cocineros debe ser un infierno.

2. Lidiar con el problema de insectos en el local.

3. Opcional, seria genial si pudieran añadir más platos a su menú para gente que no le gusta tanto el pescado, dígase variedad en carnes, pollo, pastas, papas, vegetales, un menú más infantil porque normalmente sus platos son para gente que adore el pescado en eso son un 10/10 pero para niños, y personas que no gustan de pescado tienen pocas opciones, pero claro esto es totalmente opcional, pero...

We have visited the restaurant close to the closing time, unaware of the schedule. Despite that, we were seated to a table and we were able to order food. The restaurant uses tablets to get the orders which is very easy to use and practical. The food came fast and some of the sushi pieces were very tasty, especially the starters. Unfortunately most of the other pieces were rather bland, something was definitely missing in terms of flavor. The waitresses could be friendlier. The prices are ok. We will return and try the other food (noodles and so) maybe those would be more tasty...
