Golden Calheta is a true gem nestled in Calheta Marina, and I cannot recommend it enough! From the moment we stepped in, the service was absolutely outstanding. The staff was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure our experience was perfect. It’s rare to find such warm and professional service, and they really made us feel at home. We are coming back whenever we can.

Now, let’s talk about the food. Wow! The Salmon risotto was an absolute standout – creamy, rich, and cooked to perfection. Every bite was bursting with flavor, and you could taste the care that went into crafting this dish. That’s why next time I’ve checked the Mushroom risotto, and it was a great dinner too! You must be extremely careful with an order for a Golden Board as you will be not able to move for the next few hours. Better take friends with you!

What’s super important - if you’re a breakfast lover like me, you’ll be in heaven here. Their eggs are truly something special – poached, scrambled, boiled fried – always cooked just right. Starting the day with breakfast here is a treat you won’t forget. The bread is super tasty and crunchy – we love it!

As for the local delicacies, the grilled scabbard fish was simply fantastic! It was fresh, completely different than anywhere else – of course perfectly grilled, and seasoned just right, capturing the authentic taste of Madeira. If you’re looking to try something local, this dish is an absolute must.

I recently visited the "Golden Calheta," located in the Calheta Marina on the Madeira Island, and I must say it's a delightful place. It's been open for just over two months, and it's truly a gem.

As we were strolling around the Marina, we stumbled upon this elegant and welcoming establishment. The staff were incredibly friendly (especially Marília) and made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in.

We ordered a cheese platter, which was generously portioned and beautifully presented, along with some mini burgers made with alheira sausage, topped with an egg and served with homemade fried potatoes. I absolutely loved it, and we plan to return to try more items from their menu, as the 5-star Google reviews truly reflect the quality of this place.

In terms of price and quality, it's a great value compared to other places on the island (and they offer the same menu to tourists). You won't be deceived here, and they don't constantly pressure you to order more, which is a refreshing change from some other places we've visited...
