This was unfortunately a truly disappointing experience.
The interior design and lighting of the place are very nice and along with the well-sounding menu was the reason for us to go here.
The food is so-so, see below.
The service is horrifying. Do you know these places where the staff make you feel guilty for being there, interrupting their free time? Granted, I am only able to judge the two servers we encountered that night but still....it was not a nice experience.
It all started with our server barely speaking to us. Now I don't know if perhaps she didn't speak English well because there were not even attempts at any communication. No smiles, no thank you's or sorry's, barely looking us in the eyes. The dish I wanted to order had run out and she simply said "We don't have" - and that was that.
For starters, we ordered the fish soup and a salad with orange dressing. The fish soup was very good. The salad came with way too little dressing and after waiting for a while to get the server's attention, she said it wasn't possible to get more dressing (what?). I then asked for oil and vinegar and she brought me oil. We ended up running through the restaurant ourselves, getting vinegar from another table so that we could get down our 12,- salad.
The main courses tasted fine. However, the osso buco was served cold. And I do not mean "not hot" but actually cold. There must have been a mix-up in the kitchen where they portioned the dish into its nice serving pots but forgot to heat it. Anyway, telling our server this, she stood comment-less in front of us until we spelled it out to her that we would please like the dish reheated. And again, no sorry's or any other kind of empathy.
When I ordered a cider after finishing my coke, I was brought only the bottle and had to ask for a fresh glass.
Every single thing on its own would probably not have been a big deal (even though this place is quite highly priced for the area) but all put together was just really bad. It leaves the impression like service staff there hate their job and do not care at all to provide an enjoyable experience for their guests. This is not the attitude to do hospitality with and left us with a sour taste in our mouths.
All in all, I discourage you from trying this place. Especially considering that just 20 meters further down the marina there are many restaurants lined up that offer the same if not better quality of food and much...
Read moreFirst of all the service : slowly, forgetful and brought the wrong order of food. The food. Where should I start: the so called cheeseburger : avoid it like the plague. You'd be better off eating at McDonald's. The meat is prepacked, most likely frozen and defrost on a grill, of course: no seasoning. The bread is the cheapest burger bread that money can buy. The cheese part: sliced sandwich cheese that wasn't even melted( i suspect that was also frozen). The burger lacks any sauces, vegetables or taste whatsover. The fries : frozen, hard as a rock, made in a ton of oil and salty beyond belief. The salad : bland, no dressing, no seasoning. The chicken stuffed with sausage : the chicken was burned, sausage non-existent, also made in a ton of oil and no seasoning. Even the coffee was awful : identical to the cheapest, worst possible coffee you get from a machine in a gas station in the middle of the desert. The only good thing was the cola. And that says it all. Conclusion: overrated, overpriced for what it offers, avoid it like the plague, don't go there unless everything else burned down and you are starving. I would give a...
Read moreThe wait staff was helpful and friendly but we had to wait for a long time for service at every step. We sat down, waited for a while, then a waitress came to us and asked if it's just the two of us. Then waited some more just to get the menu, although the tables have QR-code menus available which matched what the waitress brought on paper. Then later saw the clients next to us (who arrived at the same time) already finish their desserts when we were still waiting for our mains plates to be taken away. Meat and potatoes were cooked okay but i had to add quite a bit of salt in order to give it any taste.
For dessert i recommend the tiramisu with honey biscuit and Madeira wine. That made up for the shortcomings. Oh and coffee tasted weird. I would compare it to instant coffee (although i heard proper coffee maker noises from the bar; sorry i cannot give a better description).
Atmosphere was quite nice as it is located right on the beach. It's a pity we arrived when it was...
