Dom Carlos I — Restaurant in Cascais

Update: Restaurant responded and I hope next time there will be signs or notifications about vacations or public event. Road not a problem when there is friendly service and good food. I will change rating to some average one but leave review. —- I do not suggest for tourists to come here.

I was just here. Sign on door - open. 14:30 Wednesday. There is a neighbour room full of some local people. No sign that it is private event, no service. I was there writing this review nobody showed up. Suggestion to owner - you could put some sign notifying people about private event or so and better at gate additionally so people save to riding or going this awful road.

We have been here before and came back for lunch because google showed that it’s open until 6pm and very busy until 6. The strangest thing that their menu board at the entrance showed menus and that opening hours are until 6pm including Sunday. We came at 3.20pm and they said kitchen is closed and they will not serve any food. When asked why the board says until 6pm , he replied that they are still open. Anyways , very disappointing considering the fact we had to drive there and it’s not the place in city...

I have lunched at the Don Carlos a few times a month over the past 15 years and have never seen aggressive dogs, and i have never been asked to pay extra with a card. The food is excellent for the price and the service is friendly...
