Awesome little restaurant, very friendly owner, we weren’t sure what to have so we asked owner to surprise us, he started us with olives and bread, a couple of local beers and water for the table, next, he brought out a huge mixed platter of grilled cuts, all cooked and seasoned beautifully, potato wedges with chilli seasoning, boiled rice and a huge side salad.

Amazing experience! I recommend the house wine - produced by the owner’s father - and basically anything. The meat was tender and flavorful, free range cows from the region. Even the tomatoes in the salad were delicious! Pay attention to the bread and olives - both local and delicious. The owner is really friendly and took amazing care of us. Nos atendieron a una hora (pasadas las 14:30) en la que en otro local nos habían dicho que la cocina ya estaba cerrada (los horarios en Portugal no son los de España). El propietario (que también es el cocinero) nos trató estupendamente, nos dio un trato muy familiar, y se preocupó en todo momento por si nos gustaba la comida, me pareció realmente encantador. En cuanto a la comida, yo pedí una "costelheta de vitela" (chuleta de ternera), sinceramente una de las mejores que he probado en mi vida, y mi pareja unas verduras a la brasa, que según me dijo estaban deliciosas. Si vuelvo a Chaves repetiré sin duda, y lo recomiendo totalmente! Lo que no entiendo es por qué no tiene más clientes, porque tanto el trato del propietario como la calidad de la comida es espectacular!! Y además a un precio...
