It appears to be more of a place created to attract tourists rather than serve foods for locals and it shows in the quality. Dishes are okay in taste, but it's not as satisfying as the type of food they serve(more comforting) should've been. Service is good though, but it looks like their kitchen can't keep up with the flow of tourist this place attracts. We waited around 40min for our order to come. I think that the most outstanding thing in here was the interior itself, you can feel the energy of wine in the air ahaha However, as for me it was too empty, I felt somehow "exposed" and felt like I couldn't speak louder than whispering. All of that aside, the thing that irritated me the most was the prices, because you aren't paying for the whole dish in here, instead you choose main course which is protein of some sort and then pick the side dishes apart. It results in overpaying on basic things you find cheaper in other places, like salads and rice. So in the end you end up with mediocre meal, but got to pay up to...

O espaço até é agradável, embora as cadeiras sejam um pouco desconfortáveis. Vou a este restaurante desde pequenino e é uma referência da cidade. Em Agosto fui lá e pedi iscas com batata cozida. O acompanhamento pede-se e paga-se à parte. O funcionário insistiu várias vezes comigo que teria que esperar muito pelas batatas cozidas e que era melhor vir acompanhado com batatas fritas, o que recusei várias vezes. Lá esperei pensando que pelo preço das batatas, deveria vir no mínimo 1 kg de batatas cozidas! .... mas não, ... a dose, que veio numa travessa à parte, deveria conter 1 batata muito cozida que até vinha meia desfeita. Noutra travessa vinham as iscas. Sirvo-me das batatas, (virei a travessa com a batata - cortada a meio para dentro do prato) e das iscas com muita cebola. Começo a comer, ... pareceu-me bastante crocante. Aí pensei ... tantos anos que faço iscas e nunca ficaram tão crocantes .... isto deve ter segredo. Quando viro as iscas que tinha no prato uma a uma, verifiquei que na parte inferior tinham uma camada GROSSA de queimado PRETO. Mandei o prato para trás. Posteriormente quando estava à espera que me fizessem outras, virei uma fatia de toucinho que tinha no prato. Verifiquei que numa ponta continha a mesma camada crocante preta .... achei que merecia uma foto. Quando acabei de comer, saí dali o mais rapidamente possível, arrastando a minha família atrás de mim,.... mas não sem antes de desembolsar uma quantia de dinheiro suficiente para fazer um banquete num outro lugar. Seguidamente fui beber água quente à borla nas Caldas para digerir uma refeição que me provocou azia em todos os sentidos. ASAE ...

A cheap place asking for expensive prices and a below average service. Food was ok but nothing special. Almost everything is charged separately , e.g., you order a steak and you are overcharged with rice, chips, or whatever you want as a side dish. An exception to this is a meager steak which was tasteless, dry, and salty. House red wine was acceptable but too expensive for its real value.
