HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE Discrimination.
I came here with my Portuguese husband. We booked it the day before. Through the fork. We get a table next to AC unit outside. It wasn’t PLEASANT.
SERVING : We get served by one lady mid age short hair that receiving us on our arrival then one young man. We have requested to the guy to move us somewhere but somehow basically he wanted us accept that table. It was in a RUDE way he deliver to us. Then we try to talk to the lady that received us and the lady try to maintain another table for us. This table moving things we can see it’s annoy them so much specially the guy. We basically get super “DIFFERENT treatment” because he was being so nice to other table ,smile and even ask if they are cold or not then he maintain to set the heater close to them. When he come to our table he was just super fast n wanted to finish until he spilled the coke of my husband when he opened it. I hate to be in this position why he treated us so different and being so RUDE.I got him on pictures.
after some moment Then we finished our food and the chef is coming over to each table guest. When it’s our turn the lady that receiving us was taking out of our plate then chef asked : “How is everything with the food ?” And out of sudden the server lady said “ everything is good just some issue with the table before was there ( she pointing our previous spot ) but all is good now”. My husband was so PISSED with it. This is outrageous attitude! . To be honest I don’t know why their service to others seems so friendly and kind. But not to us. I wish the owner read this. They are super not PROFESSIONAL. If you want get better review then should treat other people the same.
FOOD :
We came at 1.35 pm then I get my ‘proper table’ at 2pm then we order our food at 2.10pm I order [ Kobe Beef and my husband order Couves do lagar ( octopus) ] After 25 mins order then in2.35pm they come back and told me the Kobe beef not available and the lady suggested us to order Naco de Novilho. Well then I ordered that. Review : Naco de Novilho : 6.5 out of 10 meat was cook fine but somehow wasn’t best part of it. The side dish comes with veggies that taste more like vinegar than veggies and basic baked potatoes. Octopus: 2 out of 10 too much SALT for octopus and the side dish was terrible basically bunch of raw garlic n cabbage cover by pastry. And basic baked potatoes. Even as Portuguese my husband don’t want to eat it. You all can see the pictures. Choc Bolo (me): was good 7.5 out of 10 Leite creme (my husband): was BAD 3 out of 10 totally like “soup creme” consistency was watering just like a SOUP.
Suggest for you who wants to go this restaurant: If you re not a “local” I mean not a resident of Covilha better be ready to get different treatment. Or there’s other restaurants in town with better review 5/5 check ur Google maps. I would never ever suggest this restaurant to anyone. And I will put this review in their all OTA business. At least I hope nobody will experience what...
Read moreRushed, disorganized service + bland, mediocre food. Couvert removed mid-bite, due to poor kitchen management!
We travel a lot, and I don't usually waste time rating mediocre places, but this experience is worth warning others about.
There were only two other tables seated when we arrived, so were surprised at the sense of urgency for us to hurry up and order. We ordered the sangria, then, upon ordering the couvert, the waitress asked why we chose it - did we not know what the other appetizers were? Weird statement to make. We also ordered the Tábua de Carnes (de Porco Ibérico).
Sangria: good.
Covert: salpicão e queijo - ok, pão e manteiga were wonderful, if only we had time to finish, as with more than half left and mid-bite, a red-haired woman (not our waitress) came to announce (not ask) that she was removing the items to serve our dinner. Then another waiter appeared to tell us the same thing and tell us that “everything is great”. Our original waitress looked annoyed from afar, then we never saw her again. I don’t remember a more abrupt, rude experience, not at all like the typical, laid-back, enjoyable Portuguese dining experience.
Tábua de Carnes: it says the portion is for two, but it looks like it’s for one, with only 2 varieties. We’ve had this prato many times throughout the country and this was the smallest, least varied version we’ve had. It tasted ok. The sides, beans & rice and spinach, were surprisingly bland. I usually love these things.
Sobremesa: A fourth waitress took this order. The “New York style cheesecake” LOOKED like it should, but tasted nothing like the name. Neither of us could taste any cream cheese. A very bland, fluffy whipped cream with a weird texture (oil?). I don’t know. Definitely made by someone who had no idea what NY-style (or any) cheesecake tastes like.
Café Pingado- great.
The bad food timing and constant feeling that we were being rushed did not help the fact that the food was mediocre and overpriced for what was presented. Extremely disappointing experience, not to...

Passos100Pressa, located in Covilhã, boasts a prime location and a pleasant atmosphere, making it an appealing choice for diners. However, my overall experience at this restaurant left much to be desired.
Let's start with the positive aspects. The restaurant's setting and ambiance were undoubtedly commendable. The well-located establishment created a pleasant atmosphere, providing a comfortable environment for dining.
Moving on to the food, unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. I opted for the octopus dish, which was tender but disappointingly burnt. Accompanied by vegetables and potatoes, the overall presentation was good but the flavor was disappointing. The flavors failed to impress, and I found the dish to be rather underwhelming.
Another disappointing experience was when we ordered the beef. Despite requesting a medium doneness, it arrived rare, and the sauce lacked the expected taste. This inconsistency in cooking preferences and the lackluster sauce diminished the overall enjoyment of the meal.
Regrettably, the service did not contribute positively to our dining experience either. On a sweltering day, we sought relief from the heat by requesting an indoor table. However, we were informed that no tables were available for two people, despite an unreserved four-person table being present. This initial refusal to accommodate our request left us with a less favorable impression of the establishment.
On the brighter side, Passos100Pressa's menu showcased a variety of dishes that respected the local culinary traditions. The gin I ordered was really well prepared. However, the quality of the food did not surpass expectations and failed to impress me significantly.
While Passos100Pressa has a favorable location and a pleasant atmosphere, the overall dining experience fell short of what I had hoped for. The food, though showcasing local traditions, was lackluster in taste and had inconsistencies in preparation. Furthermore, the service did not leave a...
