I have spent many nights at Chrissy's with excellent food and service. I have arranged social gatherings there for some 30 people more than once and recommended the restaurant to many people over the years. So imagine my surprise when last Friday I queried my wine bill. Put simply, I ordered from the set menu which included house wine but chose a separate wine from their wine list. I was charged the full amount of the set menu plus the full amount of the different wine! No mention of this 'house policy' at any time, especially when the separate wine was the restaurant's recommendation. My query was dealt with on the basis of take it or leave it. I hadn't realised at the time of my query but I was offered a bottle of house wine to take home but what's the point of that when I'd already declined it in the restaurant! Suffice to say that Chrissy's has lost a really loyal client over the years for their intransigent attitude and lack of flexibility. I won't say the owner was rude but arrogant and greedy does...

We ate here last month and I have to say the food was incredible. Not only was the menu something else but they easily catered for vegetarians and vegans. Unlike some places where dietary requirements seem an afterthought, you could tell a LOT of love went into the vegan dish. The desserts were off the scale too. Outside of the kitchen I have to give a shout out to the proprietor Pedro who, aside from being passionate about great food and being a natural on front of house, was an absolute lovely guy all round. Felt very welcome and looked after in his presence. Also don't worry about translation issues as there didn't seem to be a language he couldn't speak fluently haha. Fully...

Food here is 1st class and very different from the normal Portuguese restaurants. Set prices depending how many courses you have. For example, my husband and I had: large bottle of water, bottle of house red wine, which was delicious. Bread & butter. Appetizer - house smoked salmon..(simply superb). Starters: mushrooms stuffed with goats cheese., quail with cheese, bacon and red currant sauce. Mains: I had the Sole fillets., husband had Duck magret. We were so full, we couldn't managed dessert. But we did have two large coffees. The total bill was 74 euros. Outstanding chef. Waitering staff polite and friendly....

Arrived early and although the food & service was OK I didn't like the idea of a set menu that was given to us. We thought that was the norm until we seen others getting food that wasn't on the set menu. We didn't know or was offered a different menu. The set menu for starter/main course or main/dessert was €35 a head which included a bottle of wine and water.

This restaurant is a real hidden gem. Located right in the center of Lagoa, next to the municipal market, it has a beautiful and cozy terrace. The food has a French touch and is absolutely delicious. Perfect for family gatherings and meeting with friends.
