Edo Sushi Lumiar — Restaurant in Lisbon

I reserved a table for myself on google last minute, but since google accepted it I didn't think it'd be a problem, but the moment I saw the waitress and told her I had a reservation for 10 pm, she said they wouldn't accept it, so I had to show her the confirmation on my phone. Also she seemed annoyed I didn't undestrand if she spoke portuguese. I can speak it, but I don't always understand it. At least the guy that served me was really nice and tried speaking english, and he looked genuinely happy. He also gave me two candies when I payed. I ordered the All You Can Eat option but let me tell you : that wasn't an all you can eat. I don't know if this is a thing of Portugal, but the "all you can eat" was just a preset menu of stuff, which wasn't all bad, but there were a few things I normally wouldn't order (like raw tuna or that extremely sour cucumber salad). I mean the price is not too high for being a sushi restaurant, but the way I see it I would call it just degustation menu without the all you can eat label. If you go there, eat a la carte if you don't really like everything. But hey, the quality of food was...

We went there expecting good sushi... And maybe they have it somewhere... Anyway, we chose the dégustation menu in an attempt to discover what the restaurant has to offer (and because you can repeat whatever you liked from the menu at no extra cost). Well, this menu was very poor in our opinion... Maybe the sushi restaurant we usually go to (that costs around the same for all you can eat) is really so good that is unmatched, but we letf disappointed! Maybe the a la carte sushi they have is awesome, but if at least some of the awesome sushi is not in the dégustation menu (menu that should serve as a demonstration of the quality and value of the food), it fails its purpose. And we will not take the risk of being disappointed when trying the other a la...

It’s a nice restaurant but there are better. Already went there two times and it’s not bad. I just don’t enjoy much the fact that you have the tasting menu where they bring the pieces that they want. You can always choose singles pieces, but it gets more expensive. The second time I went there I got a bit disappointed, the rice was not cooked enough, which made all pieces lower in quality.
