Garden Balthazar Caffe — Restaurant in Lisbon

This place goes from bad to worse each time I've been there during the past couple of months. And trust me I'm a regular because I live right across the street. It was a favorite spot for me and my friends. But all the experiences I had since summer, especially the last three, were truly horrible. The most dramatic one was when I ordered my regular red velvet pancakes. The dough of the last one was rotten. I mean it was so rotten that when I had a bite it was literally stinking, as if the were out of the fridge for a couple of days. This is not just a regular kitchen mess. It's literally dangerous. Thank goodness I understood it immediately otherwise I would end up in the ER. I told the waiter who has very polite, I got a new plate of my choice and didn't pay (haven't seen him since, every time there's a new waiter, which seems quite strange). Next time I don't remember what happened but I remember leaving the place annoyed and saying that I won't go again. Ah, yes, I explicitly asked for a decaf and told them that I can't have a regular one at all costs because I was very stressed. They brought me a coffee that was clearly not decaf because I slept at 6.00 in the morning and had heart palpitations all night, something that happens only if I get more than three coffees on a day. It's been almost two months and I decided to give them a last chance, just because this place used to be my spot. There was only one person to tend the tables and to pay at the counter. We found the only free table with my partner but it was not cleaned yet. No one came to clean for about 5-10 minutes. Then another table emptied and because we needed more space we transferred to the other one, which was also dirty. A third table emptied as well. So three tables, all full of plates. And then the girl from inside the counter started shouting at us the table is dirty, the table is dirty as if all the rest were clean. We left and that was the last chance we've given to them. We used to go twice a week and suggested it to other people. But that was it. I suspect the employees are completely unpaid and overworked to have such behavior but I don't want to support crappy enterprises anyway....

I have always enjoyed visiting your caffe and have tried many different dishes over time — everything has always been incredibly delicious. However, during my last visit, I ordered the nachos with guacamole, and I was very disappointed with the guacamole. It tasted like it was store-bought and simply mixed with some chopped tomatoes and peppers. The avocado flavor was barely noticeable, and there was no texture typical of freshly made guacamole. Instead, it resembled a generic supermarket guacamole paste.

I strongly recommend paying closer attention to how the guacamole is prepared. It should have the distinct taste and texture of real, fresh avocado. This is something your guests will...

Deixei de frequentar. O café do Lumiar que começou a funcionar em julho de 2023, tinha tudo para dar certo, comida boa e staff super simpático e boa onda, ao fim de 1 ano, o staff já se foi todo embora (porque será?) e o novo staff está ali a fazer um favor… Como vizinha deste espaço e remote worker, fui incontáveis vezes a este sítio pois era super conveniente para mim e levei lá imensa gente, familiares e amigos! Ao fim de 1 ano fui surpreendida quando pedi o costume para o pequeno almoço (ovos Benedict com ovos estrelados em vez de escalfados) e disseram-me não ser possível…primeiro era uma questão de empratamento (what?!), depois já era porque desde o início que nunca devia ter sido autorizada essa troca pelo ex-gerente, e finalmente podiam trazer me os ovos estrelados como extra e cobrar, mas que os ovos escalfados viriam no prato na mesma 🤯 enfim, segue então abaixo uma lista daquilo que em 1 ano guardei para mim por uma questão de tolerância e flexibilidade, mas uma vez que o espaço, mesmo com reclamação no livro e email enviado, comentários apagados nas redes sociais etc, está-se nas tintas, vou então partilhar todas as situações que não gostei ao longo deste último ano: (1) mudaram a Nutella para chocolate normal nalguns pratos; (2) acabaram com o sumo de maçã com pétalas de rosas; (3) serviram-me literalmente 2 tentáculos de polvo finos e secos ao que eu questionei e disseram-me que o polvo estava a acabar (epah então não serviam!); (4) veio um separador de hambúrguer colado no hambúrguer de salmão (sim aqueles que dividem individualmente os hambúrgueres que vem amontoados nas embalagens) ; (5) durante 1 ano serviram-me ovos estrelados em vez de escalfados e agora já não podia ser; (6) apagaram o meu comentário com críticas negativas às mudanças de menu no Instagram; (7) já esperei mais de 1h para comer; (8) o staff inicial espectacular foi substituído por pessoas antipáticas que estão ali a picar o ponto; (9) às panquecas que eram boas agora estão secas e massudas; (10) cortaram para metade a quantidade de molho que costuma vir nas refeições; (11) a escadaria eternamente por arranjar super...
