Peixe Azul — Restaurant in Lisbon

We visited Peixe Azul for dinner after a quick Google search. The place is fairly close to the airport, and it's a family-run restaurant with great food, great prices, awesome service, and a local gem -- very authentic.

From the moment we arrived, we were given the royal treatment. Although we don't speak Portuguese, the waiter had no issues speaking to us in English and he gave us a walk-through of the Portuguese-only menu, and brought in samples whenever we ran into a language barrier.

In the end, the food was really quite good, affordable, and generously portioned; but it was the authentic feeling / flavours and the amazing service we received that made our experience so much better.

This is a GEM in Lisbon. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our delicious meal of FRESH fish (swordfish and Sea bream) and beautiful salad and frites, with the Calcada Vinho Verde…. Our server Reuben was knowledgeable and helpful and attentive. Locals abound here, so it feels authentic and home cooked yet upscale in preparation and flavors. The most delicious food you could have in Lisbon. Staff are so lovely and attentive (didn't need to ask for anything - they brought over whatever we needed before we could ask for it). I have multiple allergies and they were very willing to help. Even gave us advice on how to use the toll system and good restaurants in other cities 😂
