Restaurante NICOGRILO — Restaurant in Lisbon

Our last day in Portugal so we decided to stay at a hotel close by to the Lisbon Airport for our flight the next day. We wanted traditional Portuguese fare. I did a search for restaurants close by and picked Restaurant Nico Grilo. Called an Uber to get to the restaurant. Since we had had awesome seafood the last 10 days we wanted something else. My wife got the Portuguese steak. I picked an aged Prime! ribeye steak bone in sliced from an awesome aged loin in the display cooler. Wow is all I can say. The meals were prefect. Wow, best food we've had for a while in Portugal, at this unassuming little bar restaurant. Salmon with prawn sauce. The waiter was brilliant, spoke perfect English, explained the dishes and recommended the salmon, which was delicious. Also, you have to go just for the house red - probably the best vinho tinto I've ever tasted in Portugal! So good I took a bottle home with me! Unfortunately it's only supplied to restaurants. Eaten here 3 times now. In this part of Lisbon - there aren't that many restaurants. So on cold, wet winter evenings, this place is actually quite welcoming. The interior is OK. The conservatory part has a football theme - so club scarves from around Europe. As for the food - its not amazing - but definitely not a disappointing. Grilled fish dishes are fine.
