Casa da Madeira is now under new ownership. Gabriel and his family are our new hosts and have updated the "house" and menu. Lovely food and welcome. Back again and enjoying the hospitality of the house of Madeira. We enjoyed the beef skewers with polenta which my wife and I thought was the best steak/beef we have had in a long time, even better than when we visited the island of Madeira and had it there! We think having the polenta instead of chips makes a nice change and more authentic. We dined here last night (Sunday, not too busy) and the service was perfect. Some have complained about having to wait a long time for food, in my experience this can happen in any restaurant when they are busy and popular, we have experienced this at several restaurants here in Quarteira during our stay so I would say just relax...

I had a very disappointing experience at the restaurant. I ordered 4 Polo de caco since I loved eating the bread at Madeira. And since the place’s name states food from Madeira that bread was not authentic. The Polo de caco from Madeira is made with potatoes and served with butter and garlic. It’s the softest and yummiest while the “bolo de caco” they claim is basically garlic bread. Regular bread, not kneaded with potatoes. When I talked to them about it, they said yes there is no potatoes in it and not like the Madeira one😭 so I ended up with 12 euros of garlic bread. They could have been honest but they just...

All the food looked amazing except for ours. I asked before I entered if they had cod fish and cream and was told yes (it was on their board outside) so that is what I ordered. But it's not what they brought to us. They insisted we had ordered fried fish with rice. My Portuguese isn't great but I'm an expert on ordering cod fish with cream as it's a favourite dish, so I know I did not order something I couldn't pronounce. They insisted and insisted so in the end we tried it rather than make a scene, but the fish was just bones so we left it. It cost 28euros. Just be careful what you order....

We walked along the beach and came across this amazing restaurant! This was an INCREDIBLE find. The food was one of the best meals we have ever had. My mom said the salmon (daily special) was the best salmon she has had in her life - and she is a connoisseur! I had the pepper steak and it was to die for!! The sauce was incredible and the steak was cooked perfectly. Gabriel and his family were amazing and the service was incredible. I am so happy we stumbled upon this place, we would be back in a heartbeat.
