Mixed experience at Botânico.
First of all the service was excellent. All the servers were friendly and efficient. Also very accommodating when we asked to move due to being seated next to very loud music.
Furthermore the drinks were excellent. Wonderful Vina Ardanza Rioja which always hits the spot. Similarly all the cocktails we had were lovely.
The steak was good. Nothing special or extraordinary. Considering this was meant to be a highlight of such a venue, a slight let down. Burger was great, cane with additional onion rings it. Nothing special mentioned on menu.
Starters were great, especially croquettes. Prawns slightly overcooked.
Ambiance of the whole place was nice enough. Family oriented setting.
One overwhelming takeaway from this evening was salt. The salt levels of the chips were extraordinary. Being a person who usually over salts, even for me it was slightly unbearable. For others inedible. Maybe this was a mistake on the day.
Also worth noting for such a large venue. The toilets were rather small and very dirty.
Will leave at a 4* for the staff. All in all a decent experience for an...
Read moreWe were very excited to go as we have a long history with the location and we need another highend restaurant in the area. Of the ones I know I would rate this at #5 for quality and price. Decor and layout is 5* Staff generally excellent and well trained. Menu, though short, is excellent with plenty of choice for all tastes. We had some great cocktails and wine by the glass. Bread was to die for! Ordered a starter of whole baby chicken to share but it came immediately when we were just about to start on the bread and Olives. They took it back and served when we were ready - only it was the same chicken which was now a bit tough though tasty. One main course was a bit disappointing as it was requested as a well done fillet and it was cremated. Other main course was a large rib-eye, which was good but not great. Overall found it to be expensive for the quality. They are only open a month, so will give them a...
Read moreJose is the greatest host. We asked him to set us a menu for five and he did not dissapoint. He gave us five appetizers: oysters, shrimp, pork croquette, tuna tartare and calamari. Then one huge portion of perfectly char-grilled tomahawk and two portion of misobbutter salmon with chips and rscallion sides. Oneoing we are from Insonesia, he provided us with chili sauce to season our menu. And the tuna tartare was given a sprinkle of chili oil that gave a gentle warmth to out palatd. As a closing, Dinda our server suggested their Chocolate Fudge and Orange sorbet as our dessert. The chocolate fudge was served with olive and the orange sorbet had caramel base. Nothing was too strong, eqch taste complemented the other. It was a lovely dinner and their attentive service made up our day.
Will go again there for...
