Had high hopes for this place, thought it looked great from the outside and after seeing the photos my wife and I decided to book a table.
We had hoped for a warmer welcome and service, we were a bit disappointed with that.
We had also booked the table for the terrace since it was the only option available, thinking the reason for it was that it was full and that was the only place available, however there were only a few clients and a couple of tables booked. It was actually a cold night, believe it or not and asked if we could sit inside, a few clients had blankets on, that the staff provided. They said they were not open inside for some reason.
We ordered a garlic bread-like pizza for starters...the cocktail was also pretty good.
However we were shocked with the main course, the Milanesa, it was absolutely drenched in oil...I understand it's a deep fried meal but I've had this plenty of times elsewhere, you'd atleast expect them to leave it out for a minute or so on a rack or on a paper towel to soak up the oil before serving it. It honestly seems it was just taken out of the fryer and put on a plate, there were literally puddles of oil in certain areas.
The picture you see was after we had tried to soak it up twice with napkins and it's still clearly drenched in oil.
We sent it back and didn't order anything else since we had gone for a late dinner and it was almost closing time, plus we just weighed out our experience thus far and didn't see the point anymore.
We paid for what we consumed and left...don't think we'll be coming back honestly.
Wishing the restaurant the best of luck though, it's a beautiful place with great decor and it has potential, but needs work and more attention to detail. If not from the kitchen, the staff itself should never bring a dish out that isn't up...
Read moreGianni’s in Vale do Lobo is a stylish new spot that wouldn’t feel out of place in Dubai or Ibiza — sleek design, lively atmosphere and a glamorous crowd.
It’s a nice touch that you can enjoy a drink before dinner, though cocktails and wines can take a little while to arrive. Still, the attentive staff make sure you never feel overlooked.
The food is very good — the ravioli in particular was excellent. And considering the restaurant has only been open for three months, it already fills exactly the gap in Vale do Lobo and the region for people who have seen the world and expect something more...
Read moreThe place itself was great – lovely ambiance and good potential. However, the service was a major letdown. Despite having the technology in place to manage orders efficiently, the staff seemed disorganized and uncoordinated. Most of our order was forgotten, and what did arrive came painfully slow. To make matters worse, we even received items meant for another table. It felt like there was no clear structure or communication among the team. A disappointing experience overall, especially given the...
