Café Calcinha — Restaurant in Loulé

Me and my family came here yesterday at around 10pm. There wasn't anyone and the customer service was over all good. We ordered 2 separate balls of ice cream and a cone. There was no cones so they served 2 balls of ice cream with a biscuit and small spoons. We went there today after lunch and sat down which there Were alot of people. They did not clean the table and there was cups from previous people which was not cleaned. We waited for around 30 minutes to ask for what we wanted and once again we asked for 2 ice creams. They made us wait 15 minutes which then we were Served. The ice creams came with 1 ball no biscuit and a table spoon. We then saw a person next to us having all the things we had yesterday. We asked the staff and we were ignored, we then had the coffee's that we had ordered with the ice creams which came 30 minutes later. Then we went to pay and asked about the biscuits and they told us they ran out. They were rude and disrespectful and we did not get the price we had...

The food was very tasty and a good price. Problem was the service however. My wife, who has a nut allergy severe enough to need to carry an epi-pen, ordered a dish which was not listed as having nuts on (we checked both the English and Portuguese descriptions) but came with nuts sprinkled over most of the dish. When we asked the waiter he rolled his eyes and said that someone else had just ordered a platter so they could have ours and they would make us a new one. We then had to wait over half an hour for a replacement dish. Bearing in mind this was a platter of cold meat and cheese (a) the other table was going to get one that had already been to a other table and then left on the side in the kitchen for a while and (b) it shouldn't have taken more than 5 minutes to put together a replacement meal. I went for the vegan options and was unfortunately served meat. As a vegan for 10 years and with my Hindu boyfriend and cousin we all ate the beef until we soon realized this was not the vegan seitan version. We didn't make a big fuss, maybe we should have. They brought out a vegan version but in all honesty I was totally put off and felt sick following the fact I ate beef for the first time in over 25 years. When I came to the bill I asked him politely please remove this from the bill and he simply said 'it is a mistake and it's not my problem you ate beef' even though he served it to us. The manager simply didn't care or apologize that we ate meat. It was repulsive and the attitude was that they couldn't care less. So disappointed and really felt sick for the rest of the day.
