Restaurante Bocage — Restaurant in Loulé

Very nice small scale restaurant close to the Loulé Market. The food was amazing with various local fish and meat dishes for an affordable and reasonable price. Whether it be grilled or fried, we were all very happy with the way the fish were made and tasted. We didn't get to try any meat dishes, but from what we saw they also looked very good.

The staff was very busy but the waiting times were, considering the situation, very good. The atmosphere is very cozy with a bit of a historical hint from old paintings of architecture on the wall.

22/ 4/16: WHAT A GEM. A MUST IF YOU LIKE FRESHLY COOKED PORTUGUESE FAIR. WE ARRIVED ON A FRIDAY LUNCH TIME AT 13.OO AND IT WAS PACKED. INITIALLY WE WERE DISAPPOINTED BUT THE HELPFUL WAITER SUGGESTED WE RETURN 15 MINUTES LATER AND HE WOULD RESERVE A TABLE. TRUE TO HIS WORD THE TABLE WAS AVAILABLE. WE CHOSE GOLDEN BREAM WITH FRESH VEGETABLES. SIMPLY THE BEST MEAL WE HAVE HAD ON THE ALGARVE. NO WONDER BOCAGE RESTUARANT IS NO. 1 ON TRIP ADVISOR FOR LOULE. THANK YOU FOR AN EXCELLENT MEAL AT A REASONABLE PRICE.

The roast pork starter and the lamb chops for main were my favourite. This is a wonderful family restaurant that really delivers. The family initially told us that the restaurant was closed (as we landed quite late) but they very kindly opened the kitchen for our, very hungry, family of five. Although we were staying in Val Do Lobo for a week, we managed to get back and eat there again twice more.
