O Tanque — Restaurant in Loulé

Everything was absolutely perfect. I am portuguese born and raised and I had never been in such a nice restaurant in portugal before in my life. The food was great. We didn't have a single bad thing to say about any of the plates we had (there was 4 of us having 3 course meal so that's a lot of plates). The staff was even lovelier. So warm and kind. We felt so welcomed and cared for by everyone best service I've ever had 100/10. And the atmosphere was just perfect as well. Environment, lightning, music, everything. were asked if we wanted to sit outside of inside, to which we chose outside. We were seated right by a speaker but the music was just the perfect volume. It was my father's birthday and I pulled the waiter aside to ask if they had a candle so we could sing happy birthday as a surprise to which they were more than happy to comply and did so. Outstanding service, food, place, everything. Couldnt recommend more. 5 stars...

We had a leisurely lunch here at the end of our holiday. Good choice of food. If you choose to have the cover/s then to have a starter is perhaps a little too much. They will bring a selection of covers to choose so you can have them all which is great but the cost does escalate so be aware. Pick the ones you want. The selection of wine is reasonably comprehensive. Ask the waiter for help. We had a good quality red which was light enough for lunch. Mains were excellent. Chicken with Clams for me whilst my wife had O Tanque Steak. See pictures. Lovely to sit outside....

We first dined in the Otanque many years ago when it was a locals bar with very little in the way of restaurant facilities. However over the past few years it has now become a favourite restaurant. We have eaten here twice this holiday, and each time the food and service has been first rate. Food is top quality with plenty of choice and at a competitive price, and the dishes are very well presented. Thank you so much for being up there with the best. We will see you...
