Poor Food and Poor Service. We arrived at our Villa on a Saturday and after settling in we decided to explore the local area. We found Oscars within walking distance of the villa. We decided to book a table for Monday night as there was also supposed to be a quiz on at 8pm. We booked for 7pm. When we turned up there was no table reserved and we were told by the bar staff to pick a table outside for 2 people. There was only one table left for 2 so we took that but it was right on the edge next to the garden, other people then arrived clearly without booking and just sat where they wanted. They were attended to immediately. It appeared they were all known to the staff. I had to go back through the pub to the door to get some menus. When someone eventually came they asked would we like to order any drinks, we said we would order food as well as we had already been waiting some time. The drinks arrived after another delay, then food was being served to people who arrived well after us. My wife ordered Piri Piri chicken breast with veg and chips. When it arrived it was half a roast chicken and there was no sign of any Piri Piri sauce, it was also dry as a bone. My wife asked repeatedly for the Piri Piri sauce and eventually went to the bar and was given a ramekin of sauce. I ordered steak and ale pie, when it came it looked ok but there was no gravy or ale of any sort in the pie. It was very bland and we had to ask for salt and pepper. We finished our meals, well my wife left half of hers. by which time it was half past eight, we asked for the bill and we fortunately just managed to make the right money, so my wife took it to the bar and we left. We didn't leave a tip as the service was atrocious. Also as we were sat over by the garden as soon as our food arrived we were plagued by wasps. On the whole had the place been ok we were intending to eat there again but I wouldn't go near the place. As for the quiz. 8.45 by the time we left and no sign of the quiz. 2 hours to be served 2 main courses totally unacceptable. We found the Wine bar and Bistro next to the coffee shop...

Myself, my Husband and our 2 kids recently had the pleasure of having Oscars as our "local" when we booked a Villa at Vila Sol. It is under new management since the last time we had stayed at Vila Sol and the new owners Sareet & Rohan were brilliant from the very first day we went in. Our Villa wasn't ready when we arrived so our driver dropped us down at Oscars and luckily they were open and serving food which was welcomed by us all. Sareet and Rohan are 2 of the most hard working bar owners we have ever met and their staff are an absolute credit to them- Nueza also known as Angel, Nadia, Emily, Pedro, Gabriel,Sandra, Maria, Satya - apologies to any of the staff we didn't meet like the chefs who made excellent food. We ended up having dinner here every night, some nights we booked a table with a view of one of the tvs so our daughter was able to watch the Women's Euro football matches (Table 107 became our usual table most nights) The food was really good and we tried a big selection from the menu, pizza was a favourite with the kids as was the ice cream and chocolate sundae. The staff were all amazing and even knew our drinks order when they came over to our table, they were also great with our kids too - There was a variety of entertainment on at Oscars including quiz night, singers, bands, guitarists. (our kids are but older now but for younger kids they have a bouncy castle and play area too) We will definitely be back to Oscars and would recommend to others.
