AMIGOS MEXICANOS — Restaurant in Loulé

Very disappointing! We live in the area, and were very excited when they opened, as we like mexican food very much! Finally we gave it a try last Sunday, and were very disappointed. When we just walked in, staff's behaviour was a little weird, very loud laughing, playing music inappropriate for the restaurant. We love Portuguese laid-back style of life, but this was not it. It was pretty inside but too hot. We ordered a glass of sangria and margarita. Margarita didn't look presentable with a tired slice of lime, and instead of sangria we were served a regular glass of wine with some chopped apples in it. My salad (with a a restaurant name - so I presume their signature salad?) was absolutely boring, and avocado wasn't even ripe. Totally wasn't worth it's price. We know good Mexican food coming from California and this place finally gets a lot of it right. The flavors are correct, sauce consistencies (we had fajitas), and the correct accompanying sauces with the dishes (guacamole, pico de gallo, and sour cream). We also had a meat and cheese nacho appetizer that was very good. The beef was flavoured correctly, shredded cheese, jalapenos, and the right accompanying sauces. Well done.

We gave them some personal feedback as we would have liked to see a larger quantity of all three sauces with the fajitas as we ran out way before we finished the fajitas (and we were being very modest with the portions in order to try and stretch it out) They welcomed the suggestion.

stumbled across by chance, we really felt like it was meant to be. a large group of 6 and we were seated without problem and even offered unprompted a different table closer to the air-conditioning and windows. both food and drinks were excellent, and of great quality and the food was perfection. service was attentive and friendly, and we felt very accommodated. both food and drink was outstanding value for money - drinks including draught beers and cocktails were delicious, as well as being nicely presented and well-kept, and were the cheapest we had during our 10-day stay. for multiple drinks per head plus the meal, the bill was around €140 for 6 people. would...
