Being a Portuguese family from Faro we have an extensive local knowledge of Portugal, especially within the Algarve. We dined here June 2017 for birthday celebrations.

Where to start when something is just so wonderful. The staff are delightful - the ownership are dedicated, extremely professional and copiously helpful. The staff are knowledgeable about their menu and can advise to your specific criteria. This is particularly brilliant as once you see the menu, it is tough to make a decision as everything looks delicious. In short, the staff are fabulous, attentive and the service is impeccable.

The venue is as cute as a chocolate box - intimate, romantic and simply delightful. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, but if possible, the courtyard at the front has the most spectacular seating. As this only seats approx 5-6 tables, the ambiance is almost personal. The open roof spans across the sky giving you a romantic view of the stars if you dine at night. The tableware is silver, sparkling as you enjoy dinner by candlelight. The food was fresh, delicious and the best French cuisine in Portugal. The menu choice is extensive and the wine selection is to die for. All staff are also particularly attuned to their wine list and knowledge so can help you with picking your favourites. Pequeno Mundo is the best restaurant in Almancil, and one of the best in the whole Algarve! Cheers! Welcoming reception, with aperitif by the fireplace / bar. Romantic atmosphere. Exactly what my ideal restaurant looks like. Romantic atmosphere, inside and outside, beautiful pation (where you can eat in the summer), earth tones. A bit classic and French, but not stiff. Congratulations to everyone in Pequeno Mundo. Sarah is a charming host with a great sense of humour which she balances with her efficient and professional management of this busy restaurant. The food was delicious…. Foie gras, king prawns, monkfish, lamb, chocolate and apple based desserts…. All executed with class by the Chefs and applauded by us and evidenced in our emptied plates. The ambiance was simultaneously comfortable and classy… large kilner jars of preserved vegetables and fruits tempted us to enquire if they were for sale. Sadly they were not…. they are preserved for future use in the restaurant kitchen…. and to be enjoyed by patrons in the wonderful fare produced there. Thank you Sarah and all of your excellent team.
