We came here for dinner while just land to Algarve, taking luggages by uber, hoping for a relaxed Japanese meal — and the food itself was actually above average. Our first server, although not fluent in English, was kind, helpful, and did her best to make us feel comfortable.
But sadly, the experience was ruined by how things ended.
We had selected the All You Can Eat menu, but when the bill arrived, a different staff member approached us and told us that certain items — including our starter and sushi dish — were not included!!! Her tone was abrupt, and her explanation completely contradicted what we were told earlier.
She insisted that our starter was a “large portion” and therefore outside the All You Can Eat option — but there was no indication of portion sizes on the menu, nor were we informed about this at the time of ordering. It felt arbitrary and misleading.
What made it worse: 🔻 She demanded that we pay extra for one starter (which come in the large portion), even though it was part of the list we ordered under the All You Can Eat. 🔻 There was no warning before charging — and no clear sign on the menu that it would be extra.
We've been to many Japanese restaurants across Portugal, and this was the first time we encountered such inconsistent rules and unexpected charges at the end of the meal.
While we appreciated the effort of the first staff member, the final interaction felt uncomfortable and unprofessional — especially for travelers unfamiliar with local restaurant policies.
In summary: ✅ Food quality: good 🚫 Menu clarity: poor 🚫 Service consistency: poor 🚫 Final impression: disappointing
We left feeling frustrated, which is unfortunate, as this place does have potential. But unless the restaurant improves its communication and billing transparency, I would be hesitant to...
Read moreWe bought their sushi in Apolónia supermarket and finally decided to visit the restaurant. Unfortunately our expectations were too high. It is not a restaurant but more likely a sushi spot or sushi take away. The only good thing were sushi and rolls. Everything else balanced between mediocre and nightmare. Sushi 5/5 Yakisoba 2/5 - too much salt Green tea cheesecake 1/5 - it was not a cheesecake but an ice cream cake with the flavor of something like green tea. Tasted like semifinished from the grocery store. Service 0/5 - unfriendly, extremely slow and they forgot a half of our order. Total fail. So if you want good sushi you better buy them in Apolonia and eat at home or order for take away but absolutely not recommended to visit this place (if you don’t want to spoil...
Read moreCalled and asked to reserve a table for 18:30 (opening time) but they asked if we could book the table for 15 minutes later since they “weren’t open yet”. Service was ok but the waitress was careless. Food was a disappointment, waited for over an hour and the chicken was very dry with no sauce. Sushi was nothing special. We had to move tables since the walls next to us were covered in flying ants and kept flying on us and on the food. The only thing from my food that I enjoyed was the starter edamame beans. The outside terrace has no decoration and is blocked off by white walls. The waitress would disappear for ages and we had to ask for everything ourself. Don’t recommend, very disappointed since it says it’s the “best Japanese restaurant in Algarve”, won’t be...
