We came to this place based on the reviews. I have to admit that the reviews do not reflect the quality of the food or service. The food doesn’t look appealing in terms of presentation at all and you are even worried to eat it. The seafood pasta is the only reason I am giving it 2 stars because the seafood tasted fresh and seems to be legit. The steak sandwich though is a different story. The bread looks great and tasted great but the steak…. I dont know if it qualifies as a steak to be honest. It was not seasoned with salt or pepper but was seasoned with a mixture that I only met when eating fish. The meat was good in terms of not being old or not fresh. The presentation of it again unappetizing. The service again was below average. Knowing you have a huge influx of tourists, at least two words in English you must know as a server. The lady did not speak english at all, and weird of all, she just slammed our drinks and plates on the table and was pretty angry for some reason. Overall, if you are starving or your children are extremely hungry, then yes you can have a bit here but if you want to dine or have lunch, there are much better places...

Service was good but we did not enjoy our meal here. I really enjoy seafood and I found the octopus to be tasty but the amount of chips, in reality french fries, was not enjoyable. Perhaps I would have a better review if I tried something else or managed to order only the polvo (Octopus)
Food was hot which was a plus but I would not say that this was the best meal I had in Machico. I was very disappointed after hoping the 4.9 stars reviews were true. I haven't had the best luck relying on google reviews for places to eat in Madeira so I'm going to err on the side of honesty. Which my boyfriends says I must do all the time anyway.
I hate to leave a bad...
Read moreExceptional place run by a local family. I rarely write Google reviews but in this case I decided that the restaurant is definitely worth recommending! It was the best dinner I had during my stay in Madeira. We had limpets and garlic bread as a starter. Then, shrimps and fried fish and two glasses of wine. Everything was well seasoned, the sauce for the shrimps was amazing. The fish was really crispy and fresh. The prices are really good in comparison to other restaurants in Machico and the portions are big. The lady running the place doesn't speak much English but we communicated without problems. She was very open and helpful. They have one snack bar menu and one dinner menu on the outside. Great place with...
