My friends and I (5 in total) arrived at Vila Bela around 14:40 last Saturday.

We were looking to get soup and toasts. After 15min of waiting we ordered 3 tomato soups, 1 fish soup, 3 Vila Bela toasts and 1 ham&cheese toast, plus drinks. 10min later we were told they ran out of both tomato and fish soup. We changed the soup order to just 1 vegetable soup.

25min later we asked why our order was taking so long. We were told that our order was in queue (note that the restaurant was not that full, 7 other tables were occupied, most tables were free). We were then brought the vegetable soup, and 15min later we were brought the 4 toasts.

In total we stayed at this place for 1h10min to get 1 soup, 4 simple toasts (which were no big deal btw), and drinks. The waiters were nice, but waiting over an hour for ordinary toasts and soup is just not acceptable.

Payed 30.80eur.

Food: 3/5 Price:...

In front of the dazzling view, exiting from the Ingenhos del Norte rhum factory, we were hesitating between the 3 sea front restaurants. Vila Bela turned out to be a really good choice, comfortably seated in wooden designed armchairs, ambianced by the best electro-pop playlist ever and not loudy, with its smily and so cool waitress Carolina to serve the delicious shells (lapas, clams and especially the giant mussels in onions & tomato sauce was the best, we just bread-cleaned the dish). Home made lemon tart for dessert to conclude a perfect lunch. We'll hopefully be back with a bigger company to stay...

Where to even start, shocking experience. Starting with the wait time, it is absolutely unacceptable that my friends and I were made to wait almost 2 hours for our food to arrive and at least 30mins for even our drinks to arrive at the table. People that came after us were served and finished their food before we had even received ours. The portions of our food were not worth the price, after complaining to manager about this he proceed to effectively dismiss our concerns and laugh it off; we found this very unprofessional. I wouldn’t recommend going here. Not...

My family loved the location: we watched the waves from the „first row“, so to say. We had the daily fish (seabream), it was really good. Our friend had the omelets, she was happy. Sangrias good. But then when we wanted cakes a very unfriendly waitress came (until then we were served by a bit toothless but friendly guy) and in a very unfriendly way said no cakes and then in a very unfriendly way we got our coffees. I was kind of baffled by that. The bill was very high compare to other places.

We sat by the table and after 5 minutes the waiter came all grumpy and asked us if we drank the drinks that were empty on the table (from the previous guests). We answered no and he said he can’t know because the table is still full. We were not sure what he meant by that. He cleaned the table and then we waited for 20 more minutes. Since no one came we left. Probably didn’t miss anything, at least we were spared more bad attitude from the waiter.
