Snack Bar Restaurante Praia Da Alagoa — Restaurant in Machico

Please see my picture, what you see is a 12 (!!!) Euro dish made of plain noodles and some small veggies from a frozen bag. Carrots, some peas, some green beans. Not many of them and no sauce. I was very happy to see some vegetarian and vegan options and had my hopes high but this I consider to be a compete scam. You can literally use any veggies, add some cheap tomato sauce and it will look and taste nicer than this. Or you could make it a 4-5 Euro dish. Even though it's real cost is no more than 0.10 cents. This was my birthday and I was disappointed! Hope the owner sees this review. The omlet was much better, it had salad and fries and was 4 euros cheaper! But this dish "pasta with vegetables" for 12 euros is an absolute joke. Vegan people try their fries or mushroom spaghetti...

We were here 2 years ago, the food wasn’t great but we liked the place where the restaurant is located so after 2 years we decided to come back. It was a big mistake. We asked the lady waitress nicely how long we need to wait for the fish, because we had not much time (we had to catch a plane). Young lady was very not nice and she was clearly mad at us that we wanted some extra information about the food. We asked her to give us one minute to choose what we want to eat, she made an upset face and after that, she was avoiding us for another 15 minutes, knowing that we have so little time. We went around to the back of the restaurant to sit at a table facing the beach. This young lady waited on us and we got our food pretty quickly. We decided to split a prego which is a steak sandwich with ham and cheese but I had her leave ham off. I haven't had a prego here that I have ever liked. It's a thin piece of steak and quite dry. My hubs got something called milho frito which is fried cornbread. I had some fries. I think that if the cornbread was cooked longer it would have been good but it was soft inside and I was not a fan. I also had a mojito which was very good, I had never had one before.
