Words are not enough to express how great my evening at Fago was. This has to be in my top 3 favourite restaurants of all time. In fact, I said this yesterday when I had dinner there and since then I have been trying to think of what other two restaurants would be on the top 3 with this one but frankly, I can't think of a single one that even comes close.

The service was flawless, Maria and Daniel were super nice, friendly and attentive. They explained in detail each dish, going over all the ingredients, where they were sourced, and how they were prepared. They don't rush the customers and give them time to enjoy each dish, and with a little bit of nice and friendly chat, I felt like I was having dinner at a friend's place.

And the food cooked by Diogo and Paige was unbelievably good. You will see ingredients that individually are just "normal", others that will seem odd, but the combinations Diogo comes up with are simply genius. The complexity of each dish gives it what I can only describe as incredible layers of flavour but quite frankly, words don't do it justice. You have to try it. Whatever you do in Marvão, please don't miss this place.

Do try to book in advance, though, because they are usually fully booked a few...

I had the pleasure of dining here and it was nothing short of spectacular. From start to finish, this restaurant got everything right, leaving me with a truly memorable experience.

First and foremost, the food was a revelation. It was simple yet masterfully executed, highlighting the quality of ingredients. Each dish was a culinary masterpiece, and I couldn't help but savor every bite.

The service was impeccable, with the staff going above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Their warmth and attentiveness made us feel truly welcome.

The wine selection was a delightful surprise. Not only was it quite extensive, but it was also reasonably priced. It perfectly complemented our meal and enhanced the overall dining experience.

If you find yourself in Portugal, I wholeheartedly recommend making the effort to visit this restaurant. And if you're planning a trip, consider including Marvão in your itinerary. It's a charming town, and having your dinner here will be the cherry on top of your visit. Just keep in mind that due to the restaurant's cozy atmosphere and popularity, a reservation is highly...

Absolutely exquisite. A small, intimate gem where every detail is masterfully curated. Daniel, the owner, is warm, welcoming, and effortlessly funny—setting the tone for an unforgettable evening.

The menu is perfectly short—each dish thoughtful, refined, and executed to perfection. Diego, the chef, and Vera are masters of their craft, while Maria delivers service that’s attentive and genuine.

The interiors strike the ideal balance: modern yet rustic, with high-end finishes. Locally made stoneware and Portuguese glassware elevate the experience—exactly the pieces you'd covet for your own home.

Unpretentious yet worthy of Michelin-star recognition, without any of the fuss. The wine list is exceptional, showcasing regional producers we’re now planning to visit.

Truly, we’d return to Marvão just for this restaurant....

This restaurant was truly amazing and a must try when you’re visiting Marvão. Firstly, it stood out that everything was of excellent quality and also from regional produce. Every day there are three options for the main dish - meat, fish and vegetarian. Thereby every dish was a highlight on its own: For the appetizer, we had the freshly baked oven bread with leek butter, which had an interesting and rich taste. I chose the zucchini texture for the main course, and it was a superb culinary experience I’ve never had before. Moreover I want to mention that the staff was very kind and friendly, which made the evening a very pleasant one. All in all, this dinner was a very special one we will never forget.

Recomendo!
