Went there for my fiancé’s birthday, thinking that we’d have a somewhat upscale experience, but we didn’t. First, the place was so hot despite the two old A/Cs that it was uncomfortable from the beginning.
We started off with the traditional tomatoe soup, and while it wasn’t awful, you could tell the tomatoes came right off the bottle. My partner requested a mid-term Alentejo steak which came so raw that he had to sen it back. I ordered the cod fish and it was not good at all. First. The flavour was so strong that it seemed to be spoiled. Then it was extremely salty which meant that it needed to be soaked in water for longer to let the salty taste out. Then all it had as side was green and red cabbage? Seriously? For a €26 plate you could be a bit more creative and generous.
The dessert was fine and grateful for having put a candle to it as requested. Overall, for a €90 dinner, I would have gone elsewhere.

Most of this could be fixed by a more elaborate description of what the entree is. “Beef Steak” wasn’t sufficient to alert me that it was served swimming in a cup of heavy gravy (24€). Ruined the taste of the steak. The “roast lamb on purée” (26€) wasn’t a terrible description, but the potato purée tasted mostly of sour cream (or whatever they use that is similar). Way too much was used and ruined the flavor. Additionally, lamb is rich enough so to serve it one something richer leaves the dish unbalanced. My husband ate the lamb and had a couple bites of the potato and didn’t feel well all evening. A standout detail was the presence of the Chef during service, which added a personal and memorable touch. The food was outstanding, beautifully seasoned and prepared.
