O Castelo - Café Lounge — Restaurant in Marvão

Dear people, please think twice before choosing a place like this. I don't know how the food is, and I didn't meet the owners of this place in person, but there must be a huge lack of awareness. Wild birds are not only kept in cages, but they are exposed to a huge stress of hundreds of people walking in front of them every day, and to loud music of the restaurant. It broke my heart to see this just at the main entrance so I took a step back and headed for another place where to eat. Nice location and view but the food is horrible. I and my husband ordered 2 ham and cheese sandwich + 1 cheese, tomato, lettuce sandwich. The bread was hard, dry, thick and a bit old. The mozzarella cheese had no taste and just a few pieces. The sandwiches looked like come from a clumsy cook who may have no idea what a sandwich really is. Very pleasant location, but a bit frustrating. They have a limited range of food. Mainly toasted sandwiches. The tasting plate was small & poor value with sour olives, 1 type of cheese and three meats. The ordering is via a QR code system that is only partly implemented.
