O Pescador — Restaurant in Mira

They don't respect reservations. When we arrived (on time) they made us wait 20 minutes, while a table was sitting empty. Then they gave it to a group of locals and told us we'd have to wait longer. Shameless.

Edit: after seeing the mendacious reply from the restaurant (saying that we arrived late, which is not true) I of course went back to the restaurant to ask for a complaint sheet ("livro de reclamaçoes"). They refused it since "I was not a customer", being extremely rude about the whole thing.

Tourists beware!! At every opportunity we were upsold.

The server put bread, olives and a yucky pate on our table as soon as we sat down. We thought it was a nice gesture but it was 8€ on the bill.

We asked for a recommendation between two options and the server recommended something similar, but the most expensive item on the menu.

We asked for a bottle of house wine and the server suggested a bottle 29€ wine. Being Canadian - that’s $45 - if I wanted a $45 bottle of wine it would not be from this restaurant. This is NOT...

Whenever we are in praia de mira, we are visiting that restaurant. This time we felt ambushed while choosing what we would like. We didn't even manage to look into menu as we have been offered fish. The pricing at the end was not transparent at all so we did not know how much it will cost. However when local couple came they weren't offered anything and had time to choose what they want.
