Remos in Nazaré is a delightful culinary destination that perfectly balances the best of traditional Portuguese flavors with creative twists. One standout dish is their Pica-Pau, featuring tender cubes of beef seasoned beautifully and served with a side of toasted garlic bread. The beef was juicy and well-seasoned, and the crunch of the bread added a satisfying contrast.
Their beef carpaccio was another highlight. Thin slices of delicate beef topped with a fresh basil pesto, succulent tomatoes, and micro herbs created a light yet flavorful dish. The pesto was fragrant and paired perfectly with the tomatoes, elevating the freshness of the ingredients.
For seafood lovers, the fish soup is a must-try. With mullet, lobster, and roe, this soup was bursting with the flavors of the ocean. Each spoonful was a rich, comforting experience, with the sweetness of the lobster complementing the depth of the broth.
To finish, the tiramisu was served alongside ice cream infused with Ginja, a cherry liqueur that’s a Nazaré favorite. The ice cream’s subtle hint of cherry brought a local twist to the classic Italian dessert, making for a perfect sweet ending to a memorable meal.
Overall, Remos is a restaurant that excels in delivering dishes that honor Portuguese traditions while offering delightful surprises. The ingredients are fresh, the flavors are balanced, and the atmosphere of Nazaré adds to the charm of the entire...
Read moreOur meal at Dá Cá os Remos would have to be one of the best meals we’ve had on our trip so far! (4 weeks travelling through Amsterdam, France and now Portugal) In fact, one of the best seafood meals we’ve ever had! The cod croquettes were perfectly cooked - crunchy on the outside and light fluffy on the inside (side note: so much better than the “tough and chewy” cod croquettes we ordered at a well known restaurant in Porto the night before). We then had the clams and garlic prawns, followed by slow cooked codfish with corn puree, spinach and deep fried chickpeas. Divine! The fish was cooked perfectly. We finished off with the ginger tiramisu. Ana, our host, was awesome. Very attentive, warm and knowledgeable about the seafood and wine which informed our menu choices. Highly recommend this restaurant. 😋❤️ Lesley and Graeme,...
