Mil Take Away — Restaurant in Odemira

Absolutely NOT RECOMMENDED! The service was awful: the two women were very rude to us with no reason. They were disappointed when we asked if it was possible to take away, then after a few minutes when we told them (and it was difficult to speak to them because they avoided us completely) that we had changed our mind and that we wanted to eat in the restaurant (also because it seemed a problem for them to take away and we didn't have ordered anything yet), they complained screaming out loud like crazy in the kitchen: we and all the customers in the restaurant were able to listen. For the rest of the dinner, one of the two women, the waitress that brought us food, laughed at our faces like she was teasing us. I ordered the "bacalhau à mil": the fish was tasteless and not well cooked in the inside, it was burnt underneath and it was soaked in oil. They didn't give us...

Stumbled across this small restaurant when walking around the town. We knew we had to try it as there was just something simple about it. Food was outstanding! We ordered Garlic grilled prawns, olives, bread, Portugese steak and home cooked fries. The prawns came with a big tomato salad. So tasty and generous portions. Really good value for money. The Honey flan dessert was soo good that we ordered 1 more to take away. Can't recomend enough, it was my fav meal whilst walking the Fisherman's Trail. Good food and great service. Pure genuine humble people that offer the best they have. You can go to the more fancy tourist bait places around the village, but you will not feel the authentic care of Portuguese food. the prices are fairly reasonable (less than 30€ for two person) and for sure eat well. the place is small and does not accept bank cards (there is an ATM machine less than 5 minutes walking distance).
