The food was great, two ribeye steaks cooked to perfection. Medium Rare. There are some talented chefs at this establishment. Kids enjoyed their pasta. The kitchen did an amazing job. However here is where I have a bone to pick with the restaurant, front of the house service - atrocious at best and that's being kind. Had to wait quite a while to be seated as staff milled about aimlessly near the entrance. After that, a self important looking little man in a tie came and just mumbled something and another staff member nodded for me to follow the little man, after which I had to guess where to sit. Menus came late, drinks came late. Totally bizarre set of circumstances. What i witnessed is a front of the house staff who clearly do not give two hoots about service. Part of me wants to contact corporate in Germany just to find out if bad service is part and parcel of their brand or if my experience was reserved for me and me alone. Um restaurante como o Block House não é comum encontrar-se num centro comercial, no entanto, por estar no segundo piso de restaurantes previne a tão conhecida confusão permitindo uma refeição sossegada.
Antes de falar em comida, o atendimento logo à chegada é caloroso e super simpático sendo que estas características se mantêm em toda a refeição.
Agora o que tem um enorme peso num bom restaurante não rebaixando os outros pontos, é a qualidade da comida. Posso começar por dizer que a carne para mim não é a que tem mais sabor tendo em conta outros restaurantes, mas gostos não se discutem, no entanto, a carne é super mas super tenra. Escolhi o Hereford Rib-eye sendo que todos os menus são acompanhados por uma salada para entrada com 4 molhos disponíveis à escolha. A carne é depois acompanhada com batata assada com sour cream que é extremamente viciante e por um pão Block House simplesmente Uau!!
