Os Arcos — Restaurant in Oeiras

I didn't rate this place at all. The food is over priced for what it is. I ordered the octopus fillets, unfortunately it came covered in a batter and had been fried. There was no taste, no seasoning or sauce. The menu did not state it was deep fried. Lazy cooking, not what I expected from Portuguese restaurant. The deep fried shavings of veg were cold. Tomato rice was watery. I paid approx 28 euros for that plate. The crab paste was nice, well at first told it was shrimp when brought it over without asking but then when said I didn't want it and wanted the stuff crab I was told that it was the stuffed crab? The service wasn't great either, I felt like a bit of an inconvenience, waiter didn't really engage with me, and being a single diner it would have been nice if I was at least met...

A lovely first night dinner in Portugal. Based on the waiter’s recommendation we had sea bass for 2 which was grilled perfectly and expertly deboned at the table. The bread baskets alone were worth the trip. Crème Brûlée and pleasant white wine rounded out the meal. The wait staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Very disappointing. Our Portuguese friends took us here, as they remembered it as a very good, reasonably priced seafood place, but it is now extremely expensive. The lobster rice was good, not great, but not much lobster and 30Euro per person for a plate of rice and a few pieces of lobster.
