Churrascaria Galo D’ouro — Restaurant in Póvoa de Varzim

Real authentic Portuguese place, if you want to experience a Tasquinha environment. The waiter is super friendly and helpful, you'll end up meeting the family, etc. I have been having dinner there for the last 2 nights and was never a disappointment. Had grilled sardines, seafood rice and everything was great. Price is good as well. The place itself is run down and old fashioned, but this is the authentic Portugal you won't see anywhere else.

The place is clean. They have taken covid-19 measures, tables are far apart, mask is used by everyone, there is gel spread around and there is place to wash...

I have to warn people here. We arrived and the service was good. We ordered a steak which was also very good. The waiter came and served us a plate with bread, olives, butter and cheese which we understood was included as we didn’t . Order it. r At the end of the meal we got charged €8.50 in our bill which out of principle I complaint about and didn’t pay for it. I invite you to do the same until they learn that if they put something in your table without asking...

Very good local and authentic Portuguese food! And not expensive!

The restaurant is owned by a family. I’m not sure if you can pay by card so take cash just in case.

I highly recommend this place which is underrated...
