Hotel Avenida — Hotel in Póvoa de Varzim

The hotel is i the center of the city in a fairly quiet street, with shops and beach close by.||The room was new with modern interior and very clean including the bathroom with a nice bathtub. Dont expect too much for breakfast as you there is no buffet but the lovely staff will bring you everything needed to start your day to your table. A small downside was that most staff members are not speaking english which is a problem as some things for breakfast are behind the counter in a fridge or somewhere else - special queries can be difficult. ||Despite that, I would definitely return to this hotel but might learn some more...

It was lovely to arrive at this city centre hotel and our luggage was already in our room. The room was clean, spacious, with comfy beds, but with no air con, it was a little stuffy (wouldn't want to stay there in the height of summer). |Breakfast was a big 'let down'. We are doing the Caminho Way, as were most of the guests, so we all arrived for breakfast in a very small room, very cramped, and the coffee machine was not working. Eventually, a replacement machine arrived. Can you imagine the queue??? No eggs or bacon, a lot of bread and cake, which is not adequate to set us up walking...

I had a short stay. The reception staff were great and very helpful. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the shower was great, there was a useful fridge in the room, the TV had a lot of channels available and the WiFi was reliable. The only reason I've not given was 5 is because the bathroom suite had a bit of damage to it, so could do with being updated. However, I would recommend the hotel and would go back if I returned...
