Taverna O Bobo da Corte — Restaurant in Palmela

I ate there only one time. The experience was very good. I recommend you to book a table because the restaurant is small but very nice with a lot of wood features for remind you a mountain place or something likes that. The foods were very good. In particular the pork, quejo (cheese) and the “choco frito”. Very good. We ordered also the chickpeas but I don’t recommend them because are normal. Nothing special. The service was very kind and funny. The price is higher than ours expected but not too expensive. Normal. Summing up: -Location: 8/10 -Food: 8/10 -Service: 9/10 -Price: 7/10

O local está muito interessante, sem dúvida! Os petiscos parecem óptimos (ainda não os consegui provar!!). Palmela é uma bonita Vila, com vista fantástica para o estuário do Sado (e Tróia), por isso, de vez em quando passo por lá. Quanto à "Taverna" em apreço, tenho a dizer: passei lá um dia à hora de almoço, já tarde. Vi a porta fechada com a placa "aberto" exposta. Espreitei e vi que os donos estavam a almoçar. Perguntei se estava aberto, responderam que se a placa dizia "aberto", é porque estavam! (-Não achei grande piada... ) Já não serviam refeições, disseram. Questionei se podia tomar uma cerveja, disseram que sim. Para não incomodar a refeição deles, fui para a esplanada. Quando tomava a cerveja, chegou um casal de idosos que bateu à porta (estava novamente fechada ), a dona abriu e a idosa perguntou-lhe se podiam tomar café, ao que lhe foi respondido, com alguma (grande) indignação: "Servimos café mas não somos um café!!" O casal lá entrou e a minha cerveja ficou presa na garganta! Teimava em não descer. Que arrogância! Tempos depois decidi lá voltar, cheguei cedo, pouco passava do meio dia. Entrei e vi a minúscula sala vazia, perguntaram-me de imediato se tinha reserva, ao que respondi que não. A dona disse que estava tudo reservado, não podia atender-me. Disse-lhe que tinha ido de propósito e não me importava de comer na esplanada. Respondeu de imediato que não, porque estava frio e não queria servir-me mal. Quem lá ia permanecer era eu... Eu é que sabia se estava frio ou não! Enfim. Das duas vezes notei uns tiques de "vedeta" nesta senhora. Como sou teimoso, acho que vou voltar a terceira vez, pode ser que...

Situated at the heart of the medieval castle (Castelo de Palmela) is this gem of a restaurant.

Everything was spot on: the staff were super friendly & attentive and the food was fresh, delicious, well presented and reasonably priced. The cosy, traditional vibe is in keeping with the surroundings - there's outdoor seating too!

The combination of visiting the castle, witnessing the beautiful panoramic views and this brilliant culinary experience makes for a great day out.
