Cacau Wine Terrace — Restaurant in Porto

Me and a friend booked this place to celebrate our birthday. The food was ok but doesn't justify the price. The drinks were the biggest problem, we were told that the set group menu include the drinks and we could bring the sparkling wine for the birthday cake moment and that's what we did. The owner served one glass per person of our sparklin wine and refused to serve the 2 bottles that were left to use between 36 guests for a second round, only after an heated argument in front of the guests he decided to let us drink the remaining bottles. The owner also told us before serving the main course that only 2 cups of wine or soda will be served per person, when we were told before that the drinks will be served during the dinner without imposing any limits or conditions per person. It was unpleasant and the owner instead trying to have a diplomatic aproach and propose solutions for the problems he created upon himself and to us, he went for an aggressive and uncomfortable approach. The attitude ruined the experience, guests noticed the discomfort and this could have been avoided if he had a diplomatic approach. We were pleasantly surprised by our experience at Cacau Wine Terrace. If it wasn't for Google Maps, we would certainly not realize it existed. It was a nice discovery since there aren't many options in the area. After reading the reviews, we decided to go with multiple starters, we ordered all but 2 and everything we ordered was quite tasty. The owner brought us their house-made hot sauce and it was delicious! They have a nice selection of wines by the bottle, which is a bit on the pricey side for Porto. The restaurant is quite cozy and the staff super friendly. The menu is very promising and a bit on the expensive side but execution of the dishes is disappointing. Starters included serrano ham that is a bit past its prime. Bread, olive oil was good.
