We are visiting from the United States. I have a hard time eating out especially in a foreign country. I have Alpha Gal syndrome, a problem arising from the bite of a Lone Star tick. I have had it about one year. I cannot eat anything from animals with hooves which also includes milk and cheese. I mostly have to eat chicken and fish and salads. The beautiful waitress tonight didn’t speak a lot of English but enough to understand what my problem was. After speaking to the cook she came back and told me that I could have one of the risottos. That’s what Portugal needs! Highly-educated extremely sympathetic. She showed me an amazing menu and described everything in detail. It is definitely a beautiful restaurant with great staff! Just a coffee but she sold for sure many visits and got new friends.
The lady whom made my coffee unfortunately I did catch her name (sad)😢😢😢😢😢 she was lovely and a great smile! I said it before and I say it again. That’s what makes Portugal cozy and friendly.

We enjoy the pizzas (Salerno is my favorite) and pastas (carbonara is creamy and decadent). The tarte de lima (lime pie) is a nice finish to a lovely meal. The server offered us a complimentary glass of port in appreciation of our patience (they were short-staffed but honestly the service was great anyway). A lovely local spot for a cozy dinner.
