House of the Arts — Attraction in Porto

The building is located in the gardens of a neo-classical mansion in Porto, dating from the beginning of the 20th century. The program for the competition proposed a cinema, an auditorium and an exhibition gallery, as well as the conservation of the gardens as they were. I went for the park! I was so pleasantly surprised to hear beautiful violin and piano music coming from inside one of the halls. Turns out the music students were giving their final exams and we had a free concert! I can’t comment on the interior or what they offer, sorry for that. But the gardens are a hidden gem for sure! Worth a visit, and a lovely place to bring a coffee or a picnic lunch and enjoy this oasis. Perfect break from the urban environment! Another reason...
