Great experience and a very good idea to have such a learning room. Really a good experience in Porto. The garden is beautiful and kept in an order that is natural rather than stylish. In the spirit of the gallery. The cafe food was excellent. The price of entrance was extremely sympathetic. Keep that spirit so that people can afford to enter. Much cultural institutions are for people already well off. So great to see another policy of a cultural institution. The staff of the gallery was well informed and open minded. Also very interesting to read the history of the palace that goes way back and include some Danish element that of course surprised me. So to the gallery; keep the entrance low and be proud of the space. It is beautiful and so nice not to be in a crowded tourist trap. I hope you will keep it like that with the help of the commune of Porto (that commune should really start caring about the development of the city. For the local people living there. Seems that it is totally bought by foreign housing investment companies. The housing policy is non-existing and historical buildings are not respected. Really a pity for the development of Porto!

Read moreThe museum indoors was really really nice and well done. We spent almost 2hours inside reading and looking at everything closely. The stuff who works there was very friendly and helpful, he explained many things to us and answered all the questions we had. He was professional and super friendly. The garden outside was a bit disappointing.... It all looked like it's not really cared for, there was an art / Light Exposition of Alice in Wonderland but it looked really trashy and ruined the whole botanical garden. There are lots of free running chickens and roasters which was nice for our son. Many of the green houses have been closed. The garden does need...
Read moreGreat exhibition, with a lot of interaction, such as a transformation system that shows how you would look like if you were Asian, African or European, based on a photograph, a smell generator that lets you guess some well-known smells in nature, an apparatus that lets you watch with the eyes of a hawk or of other animals, experience with the origin and meaning of basic forms in nature, and so on. A great way of making the connection between scientific knowledge and a layman audience.
Some of the items could have been exposed slightly better, and the exposition is not very big, but in general it is well worth the 5 euro's it costs. Time to spend: 45...
