Tourigalo Porto — Restaurant in Porto

The other day, for the first time, we ate at the restaurant and we loved it. Tourigalo's speciality is meat dishes. We got the costelinhas de vitela a tourigalo. The meat was perfectly cooked, falling of the bone but still with some bite to it. The seasoning was simple salt, pepper, butter and garlic, but nicely showcased the taste of the meat. The price was reasonable especially for the quality. The service was good: relatively fast, professional. We really enjoyed the meal. Now to be fair, not all our experiences at this restaurant were that nice. Some time ago, we tried to reserve a table for lunch on a Saturday or Sunday. They said that they didn't take reservations. We asked if they had table left at the moment and followed a 5 min sermon about the fact that, even if they have free table now, they might not be free when arrive. That make sense right, but the person on the phone was so insistant and condescending that we decided to go somewhere else. Maybe a bad day... We also had few times their drive-in. We bought chicken and costelinhas. The food was good, but nothing special. As good as other places around that do this kind of dishes. So my recommandation is: The take away is correct, but go eat at the restaurant. It's a better experience. Try the costelinhas de vitela a Toutigalo and finally don't call to ask if they have...

This place looks good from the outside, but my advice is to run the other way! We ordered the whole chicken, which arrived within 5 mins of ordering, along with a bowl of rice and crisps sitting in oil. I can only describe the chicken as minute. What chicken there was was cold and very dry, the rice was cold, and the "potatoes" were actually crisps. This food was not freshly cooked and had been sitting a while, we complained and it was taken away. The same meal reappeared within another 5 minutes, this time the very small chicken was slightly warmer and swimming in grease along with the crisps, the rice had obviously been reheated, which in my opinion is highly dangerous. We picked at the bones to find some chicken and we did not eat the reheated rice or crisps, we did ask for chips and were told that they had run out! We decided to leave, and i asked for the manager, who spoke english and told him of our dissatisfaction, he did not care and had an answer for everything. We left hungry and told him we were going to look for food somewhere else, and he could not have cared less. When we brought our complaints to him he said there was nothing he could do and would not even give us a discount, which as a manager is highly unprofessional. Péssimo atendimento hoje, com o Gerente Sr António a servir à mesa. Tempo de espera na mesa com mais de 45 mts antes de ser servida!!! Comida mal passada. Indo para trás uma travessa e a outra na mesa a arrefecer!! As saladas que costumam vir antes das refeições vieram no final do almoço!!! Salada de cebola pedida inúmeras vezes durante mais de hora e meia, apenas veio no final da refeição no pedido da sobremesa!! Incapaz de seguir em frente no atendimento, o Sr António, gerente recente deste estabelecimento, não tem competência para atender clientes habituais desta casa. Sendo nós clientes do tempo da inauguração, é incompreensível este atendimento. Aliás nem que fossemos clientes pontuais, eu não voltaria se me atendessem desta forma. Pedi cervejas de garrafa e não tinham, deixaram finos e depois quando voltei a pedir, deixaram príncipes em vez do mesmo!! O Sr António, abandonou a mesa e não tendo condições de continuar, devido ás constantes queixas, deixou-nos com o Sr Sérgio, o empregado. Tendo enviado para a mesa dois cafés frios. Quando o que mais pedimos foram cafés quentes e logo entregues mal saíssem da máquina. Tal não aconteceu. De todos os gerentes que este restaurante teve desde a inauguração, este Sr António é o pior de todos. Manifestei o meu desagrado devido ao péssimo serviço e a postura do Sr António demostrou não ser competente para servir ao público e não conseguir ouvir reclamações. Conheço o Sr Gomes e não creio que seja esta a postura e o serviço que exige dos seus funcionários, sejam ou não gerentes. Como gerente a sua postura e cara, deveria ser a primeira a demostrar respeito por clientes de anos. Deixo por aqui o meu desagrado e reparo. Lamentavelmente sabemos que nestes últimos meses o serviço escassa pelo profissionalismo, mas deixar o cliente ser servido pelo próprio gerente e ter este serviço à mesa, é LAMENTÁVEL!!! Não vão a lado algum a deixar na mesa mais de duas horas o cliente com o serviço a conta gotas e a ser servido mal. Qualidade fraca de serviço e é desagradável ter que o afirmar por aqui para SER OUVIDO!! SR Gomes mude a forma como trabalha nesta casa ou mantenha-se atento neste restaurante.
