A bit of a crowded tourist spot. We called in the morning, pre-ordered the traditional cozido, and reserved a table for 2:30 PM. However, we ended up waiting for our food for an hour, and it wasn’t worth it. The taste matched the appearance: gray cabbage and other vegetables with a bland, overly salty flavor. It was lunchtime, and all the tables were full of tourists trying the “traditional dish.” But honestly, no one seemed to enjoy their cozido. Sad, surprised, and disappointed faces all around. I can’t understand all the positive reviews. Additionally, the cozido was very expensive, and I wouldn’t recommend visiting this place. If you do want to try it, I suggest ordering the smallest portion to share with a large group. On the plus side, our waitress was very nice and friendly, though she did forget half of our order (a hamburger and a beer for my husband). Bread is cold and tasteless((

A truly fantastic and elevated meal that didn't break the bank. We had the grilled swordfish with pineapple relish and the breaded and fried forkbeard fish with a tartar sauce. Delicious, and very reasonably priced. The 9 Euro bottle of white wine we had went well with everything too, and they had this clever frozen-gel plastic sleeve that they put around the bottle to keep the wine cold. The coffee quality was very good too albeit quite strongly bitter, which paired very well with this sweet apple butter jam spread over light fluffy bread for dessert. Very warm and welcoming staff.

Coincidentally, we parked just outside and decided to have lunch here. This was a good choice. From the very first moment we were welcomed by a friendly and attentive staff. The menu was kindly explained to us and all of our questions clarified. The furnishing and fitouts are quite modern, in contrast to the many traditional restaurants we visited, but are very pleasing and stylish. The local Azorean hamburger was well really tasty and great value for money. The homemade desserts and coffee were also great. Overall, we enjoyed our lunch and definitely recommend this place to anyone.

WARNING! Book a table if you plan to visit on weekend!

Why? Otherwise you might miss the chance to eat here. And you don't want to!!!!

Professional, kind, personal service - even in the biggest crowd the servers know serving is not about place a plate on a table.

The daily soup was super tasty - I'm a soup addicted, the day before I was lucky to catch a soup festival on the island, one of my best experience -, altough a bit oily for my taste - i use pig fat only, so it's a common issue for me.

then grilled squids, I was grateful for the veggies on the plate. Not under, nor overspices, perfect balance of nature's and human added flavors.

i ordered a salad, the bowl was small and living in Slovenia got use to eat huge bowl of salads with almost every dish, so I think it's again a bit me. But what I'd surely add, a small set of oil and spices to the table, so guests can flavor theirs for their own taste (olive oil, 2 sorts of balsamico - a stronger and a close to neutral taste -, salt, pepper).

I left the dessert decision to João and he made the perfect choice with soury Ananas mousse. yummieeee!

Food was very good - sad I did not try before, would come more than once -, the service was outstanding! I am super grateful for the experience!

Ambiance a bit simple - but tasty at least -, the music loud for me as the other guests, but I guess it is just my wish to eat in quietness and peace.

I'll come back every time I am...

WOULDN'T RECCOMEND THIS PLACE: Today we visited this restaurant in the afternoon. We were seated quickly and they brought the menu, but after didn't come to take our order till we asked about it. We orderd a burger and a dessert. After more than 40 minutes we asked how long it's going to take because we saw that a few guests that came after us already got their food. The waiter said they needed to make the fries, which didn't make any sense because the other guests got their burgers with fries. The waiter also said: the food is coming now. After 10 more minutes a waiter brought the wrong burger to out table (the fries were not hot so they clearly didn't need to make them), and asked if I would want the dessert now, I told her she didn't need to bring it anymore because I already was pretty annoyed that they needed more than 45 minutes to bring a dessert that is already prepared and also brought the wrong order. Also the waiters were really loud making coffee which was also not nice, as it was every few minutes that it got so loud. So summarized: a waste of...
